Time for some storytelling.
I had a client come in for a personal branding session. Bubbly, warm, full of energy. The kind of woman who makes everyone around her feel good instantly.
But when it came to her own image? She didn’t believe she was beautiful.
We started shooting. At some point I turned the camera around and showed her a photo.
She went quiet.
Then she said: « I cannot believe this is me. This woman is a goddess. She looks so powerful. She looks so capable. »
Third person. Like she was talking about someone else entirely.
And then it hit her. That woman is her.
This is why I do this work. Not for the photos.
For the moment a woman reconnects with herself. With her power. With who she has always been.

She messaged me two years ago.
Loved my work. Felt the pull. Was ready. Well…almost.
« I just need to lose a bit of weight first. Then I’ll book. »

I replied with warmth, told her I understood, and gently explained what the experience actually involves. The makeup artist. The styling. The posing guidance. The way I work with every body, every insecurity, every woman who has ever stood in front of my camera convinced she was the exception to the rule.

She said she’d think about it. I still think about her.
Because I know what happened. Not to her specifically,but to the version of her that kept waiting. The version that stayed invisible while her business grew. That kept using the old headshot, the blurry photo, the one that doesn’t look anything like the woman she has become.

Waiting to feel ready is one of the most expensive things a woman in business can do.
Not just financially. In opportunity. In confidence. In the clients who didn’t trust her enough to reach out because her online presence didn’t match her actual expertise.

Today on June 1st, we celebrate International Children’s Day.

Growing up in Bulgaria, this was one of my favourite days of the year. And today it made me stop and think about that little girl.

She had so many dreams. So much hope. So much certainty that one day, she would build something of her own.

She had no idea what it would cost. The hard days, the doubt, the moments of wanting to give up.
But she also had no idea how far she would go.

So today, in the middle of the hustle and the ambition and the never-enough feeling of not doing enough… I want to remind you of yours.
That child is still in you. And she or he is so proud of where you are today.

Keep going. But be a little gentler with yourself too.
