"Welcome to the jungle"

This image was captured on my very first day in Tadoba, India —a moment that felt almost like an introduction to the world I had just entered.

Resting quietly in the shadows, the tiger looked directly toward me with a calm, unwavering gaze. There was no dramatic movement. Its presence alone filled the scene. The dark surroundings naturally isolated the animal, bringing attention to its eyes, the texture of its coat, and the remarkable pattern of its stripes.

What makes this photograph particularly meaningful to me is the timing. After arriving with all the anticipation of photographing tigers in their natural environment and after months of planning with Toehold Photography , encountering a tiger on the very first day in that display felt like an extraordinary and unreal welcome sign.

"Welcome to the Jungle" is a portrait of that first encounter—a quiet but powerful beginning, and a reminder that in the jungle, the most memorable moments often happen without warning.

"Water Whisper"

Early in the morning, while the lake is still quiet, two swans begin their daily routine. After resting through the night, they slowly move across the calm water, stretching, cleaning their feathers, and preparing for the day ahead.

One remains alert while the other bends into its morning grooming, their gentle movements creating small ripples across the surface. Around them, the distant mountains fade into the morning haze, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

Water Whisper captures this simple, everyday moment—a quiet morning shared by two swans before the lake and the world around them fully wake up.

For International Tiger Day, we celebrate one of the planet’s most extraordinary predators — and confront how vulnerable its future remains.

Once roaming across vast stretches of Asia, tigers have lost most of their historic range. Habitat destruction, poaching, illegal wildlife trade, and conflict with humans continue to threaten wild populations.

The tiger’s roar may symbolize power, but its survival depends on protection. Preserving forests, combating wildlife trafficking, and supporting conservation efforts are essential to ensure that tigers remain part of the wild — not just part of history.

"Elysian"

Elysian is a study of stillness, scale, and the quiet relationship between landscape and wildlife. Three swans move across the surface of the Leman lake, their dark silhouettes standing against a restrained landscape of water, mist, and mountains.

The composition is defined by simplicity and space. The swans remain deliberately small within the frame, emphasizing the vastness of their surroundings, while the mountains gradually dissolve into haze in the distance. A soft, nearly monochromatic palette reduces the scene to subtle variations of light, texture, and depth.

Generous negative space gives the image its sense of calm. The expansive sky and uninterrupted water allow each element to exist without distraction, while the faint movement of the swans introduces a quiet sense of life.

Elysian captures a moment when landscape, light, and wildlife seem naturally balanced—a serene encounter with the alpine environment, shaped by atmosphere rather than spectacle.

After a good afternoon nap, Shambu slowly made his way out of the shade and headed toward the water. He took his time, looking around before continuing on his evening patrol. As the temperatures started to drop, he became more active, ready to spend the night moving through his territory. Watching a wild tiger go about its normal routine like this is always a privilege, and moments like these are a reminder of just how incredible life in the wild really is.

"The Eyes Of Khan"

Deep in the forests of Tadoba, India, lives a tiger called Shambu. The local legend says he might be the biggest tiger in India today. Seeing him is rare. Looking into his eyes is something you never forget.

There's an old story that Khan, the legendary tiger from The Jungle Book, never really disappeared. His spirit simply found another king to carry on his legacy. Many believe Shambu is that tiger.

This image was taken at the perfect moment. Shambu sits quietly in the water, completely still, yet fully in control. There's no roar, no display of power. He doesn't need one. His presence says everything.

The dark water and the direct stare create a portrait that feels almost unreal. It's not just a photograph of a tiger—it's a meeting with one of the last true rulers of the wild.

The Eyes of Khan is a reminder that the greatest strength doesn't always make the most noise. Sometimes, it simply watches... and the jungle watches back.

Hey people! Just realized it's been almost a year since I posted something... Well, life happened! But I'm literally writing this on my flight to my next adventure! Any guesses?

Lot of upcoming images to come. Here a glimpse of my new series "Swan Lake". I've spent a good amount of time in my backyard around Lake Geneva (or Léman Lake for the haters), trying to portrayed the morning beauty of swans. It's been a game of patience, but it slowly all come together! More to come very soon! Stay tuned!
