🏔 Furka Pass - the iconic Swiss Alps pass, Switzerland

Three and a half years after arriving in the German Switzerland, I finally came across the famous and most scenic Swiss pass - the Furka Pass and its mythical abandoned Belvedere Hotel.

The funny thing is that this place was on top of my bucket list all along and we arrived there without planning our trip to the Aletsch Glaetscher in Wallis.

What a nice surprise! Stopping there for a mythical photo is of course mandatory!

A place suspended between land and sea, guardian of secrets and legends.
The Wonder they call it. Marvelous is
to walk at dusk through the dark alleys within of its walls and feel the 13 centuries of history that run through it. Only the sea can truly know its turbulent past.

This is a total blast to face the Schreckhorn. An otherworldly hiking spot. This mountain is a wanted target but hard to approach due to its challenging but beautiful rocky ridges. Your alternative is therefore Grindelwald-First. From there, enjoy magnificent views of the highest mountain in the Bernese canton, the Schreckhorn, rising 4078 metres.

Closing this year full of amazing outdoor experiences with this shot from Lago di Brai, my favourite discover of 2021 at the border between Switzerland and Italy.

In the regions of Lombardy and Graubünden, lies this little beauty. A 8-kilometre long and entirely frozen lake in Winter, the Lago Di Lei. Located in Italy, it has a massive dam in Switzerland.

From the Val Ferrera, on the way to Avers and Juf, turn right at the small intersection Campsut and go up to the tunnel portal. The adventure begins there. Follow the path that climbs up through the woods; it will take through the border area between Italy and Switzerland. Up there, you are rewarded with gorgeous views of the Avers Valley, Valley Di Lei and of course, Lago Di Lei.
