Its been one crazy week. We have seen and heard and learned so much, it was an incredible ride.

So on Monday night we had the pubcrawl organised by the Websummit. We visited two different bars with a small group of people. It was the first time we talked with some other Alpha startups as well as some locals who attend websummit. Besides the fact that it was mostly too loud due to live guitars playing, it was a very chatty night.

Tuesday morning we were very excited to finally see the Websummit in action. After a short walk to the bus stop we realised we were not the only ones in Dublin trying to get down to the conference center. A few buses later we ended up watching the opening speech in the bus via live stream. Not any less excited we arrived there just after 10 eager to see everything. The first day passed quite quickly while we were busy taking everything in. There was an abundance of start ups there and we got more and more worried that we will be lonely next to our stand on the following day.

So as we arrived back in our apartment, we started using various channels of advertising and sent out a few hundred emails in order to make some people aware that we will be exhibiting on Wednesday. As the morning arrived, we left a little earlier so that we caught the right bus to be there before 9am so we could calmly set up our little booth.
And so it began, the day passed with us explaining our project to a vast number of people, from other start ups over people from the media to one or the other investor that passed. Against our expectations, we never stood lonely for more than 10 minutes. By the time it was 4.30pm our legs were killing us from standing all day and we had a lot of new inputs on how to change our business strategy in order to have better chances at succeeding. The free beer we got offered from Websummit after seemed just right to reflect on this very eventful day.

Thursday we didnt take the bus so hectically. First we stopped at starbucks for a coffee and to have another chat on how to include all this new information in our strategy. So we made it down to the Summit by around 11 and passed the day with some interesting speeches, watching out for the competition and always talking about how to reposition ourselves. When happy hours arrived, we sat down with a beer and a laptop and redefined our Vision and Mission. From here we will move forward in order to become the most modern and innovative platform to find your next internship! :)

Cheers

Yesterday we both took the plane towards Dublin. One from Basel via Frankfurt, the other from Montpellier via Paris. After we both had a few hours in transit, we finally met around 5.30pm ready to take an Uber to our Airbnb apartment we booked for the week.
Our host was very kind and even left us some fresh milk, bread and eggs for the next morning. We quickly unpacked and then headed out for our first beer in the streets of Dublin. We found a few very charming pubs in our neighborhood where we tried some of the local ales. The weather was classic irish: cold and foggy.

We didn’t return too late since we had to be ready this morning to get our registration done.
So after a good nights sleep we decided to walk to the RDS where the Websummit will be held over the next few days. It was a bit of a walk, but nice to see a little more of Dublin while checking our daily walking goals! 😉

After the most important task was done it wasn’t long until we found a pub where we tried a full irish breakfast. To get home we decided to take the bus, which was definitely much faster. We now have a few hours left to prepare the last things and plan all the speeches we want to hear tomorrow before the Websummit Pubcrawl starts this evening.

Stay tuned, its going to be an exciting week!
