The Cambo ACTUS-G used by Matthias Conrad!

Not an AI generated image nor a photomontage but an original Elliott Erwitt photograph. His famous 𝙐𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝙅𝙪𝙢𝙥 (1989). Which in turn pays homage to one of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s iconic decisive moment pictures, 𝘽𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙚 (1932).

Fujifilm must have chosen the image for a good reason. Both photographers were prominent members of the illustrious Magnum Agency, which partnered with Fujifilm to digitise their immense archives. At Fujikina Paris the exhibition 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙣𝙪𝙢 𝙖 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧 will be presented. A good opportunity not only to reacquint yourself with many iconic photographs - in color indeed, so not the ones mentioned above - but also to see less known and newly commissioned work by Magnum photographers. And that’s just one of the many exhibitons, inspiring talks, demonstrations and photo walks during three days of 𝐅𝐮𝐣𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬. All at the beautiful ambiance of the Palais Brongniart in the hearth of Paris.

We are looking forward to be part of it. Cambo will be present showing a selection of equipment for the cultural heritage industry, the Actus view camera applications for Fujifilm X and GFX cameras and fine geared heads. We'll be supported by our trusty French partner MMF-Pro.

"Célébrons la photographie" (let's celebrate photography) the announcement says. For a good reason: This year is the bicentenary of photography. At least if we recognise Joseph Nicéphore Niépce's View from the window at Le Gras as the first photograph.

Back in 2015, renowned landscape photographer Joe Cornish took the Cambo ACTUS DB to Yosemite National Park, breaking his own rule of never travelling with an unfamiliar camera.

A lightweight, robust technical camera that impressed him with its precision, portability and thoughtful design.

A decade later, the ACTUS continues to empower photographers who demand precision in the field.

In 2019 we dedicated a blog post to French photographer Stéphane Gautronneau who joined Alaska's fire fighters. He did not only portray them, using his Actus-GFX. They gave him a two-days crash course and after that he was ready to assist.

Stéphane’s work hasn’t lost anything of its relevance now the earth unfortunately is scorched by wildfires again.

The Cambo PCF geared tripod head. It gives you the quick adjustments of a ball head combined with the precision only a geared head can offer. That's what makes your final 0.5 degree adjustment easy.

During the summer we'll add a free long quick release plate, the QR-XL. This enables you to rotate the camera around the lens' nodal point. Which makes an already excellent geared head also a great tool for panorama photography.

Today the Kina Family Tour starts. 8 days in 8 cities through Spain and Portugal (Oporto) filled with inspiration for maternity, newborn and family photographers.

Only 75 seats per event guarantee plenty of opportunity to learn from the three inspirational speakers, socialise with colleagues and to get firsthand technical information. All in this laid-back but well-organised atmosphere we learned to appreciate so much from other Kinafoto events.

The tour kicks-off at Innovahouse. Our distributor Innovafoto's beautiful studio near Valencia. We're happy to be part of it.
