Tawny Owls chicks 🦉
They leave the nest before they can even fly. Using their sharp talons and beak, they clamber through branches — a behaviour known as “branching.” Their parents continue to feed and protect them for weeks.
In the first days after leaving the nest, they’re especially vulnerable, like many young birds at this stage. That’s why it’s so important to keep your dog on a leash and, when observing them, keep a respectful distance.
Taken with the .schweiz FX3 and 400mm f/2.8.
