I finished crocheting my first sweater! I learned how to crochet around Christmas because I received a little crochet kit, and I’ve been working on this granny square sweater since January. Almost 3 months! Sooo much work, but I got pretty fast towards the end of the project. I am aware that is an insane, neon monstrosity, but I am obsessed with it and it makes me so happy! Too bad that the weather is forecasted to be 80° or more for the next 10 days, and likely beyond, so I probably won’t get to wear this sweater much until winter comes back around.

I took on this project because I haven’t felt like painting so much since Christmas. Last November, I had to move out of the studio I was renting because they raised the rent quite a bit, so I had to move my workspace back home. It’s been an adjustment. I told myself that at least the crocheting will keep my hands busy and allow me to learn a new skill until I feel like painting again, so it won’t feel too much like time wasted. I’m feeling more up to it now, though. Hopefully I’ll start painting again in the next few days. Hope you all are well!

I spent a few days in Big Bear with my family, and I got a chance to paint during one of the days. It’s been a while since I lasted painted plein air. 😵‍💫 Pretty happy with it, though. I painted about 1.5 hours before the sun left the lake, changed the light, and made it very cold all of a sudden. I added the ducks later, referencing a few photos I took. Overall, a good time spent enjoying the outdoors, connecting a bit with nature and with my family.
