Alisa told me she wanted photographs that keep her happiest moments in frame — so that every time she looks back, she sees how beautiful she was.

After having her son, she started living more fully. Loving herself more. Making more time for the things that light her up. I had to sit with that for a second — because how? How does that happen? I thought that if I ever have children, I’m not even sure I’ll manage to wash my face twice a day. 😅

But then I watched her move through that evening. Barefoot in the flowers. That smile. That ease. That energy that just radiates from somewhere deep.

And I thought — oh. That’s how.

It’s not about having more time. It’s about deciding you matter. And when you do that — when you really listen to yourself, when you actually pamper that part of you that needs tending — everyone around you feels it. Your child feels it. The camera feels it. I felt it.

Alisa changed something in my mind that evening!

🌅 What’s the best time of day for our photoshoot?

Light is everything. The same location can feel completely different at 9am versus 2pm — and timing is often what makes the difference between nice photos and magical ones.

Here are my preferred times, based on years of shooting in Switzerland 🤎

🏞️ In the valley
Lauterbrunnen

• Winter (Jan 1–31) — 10:30 or 13:00
• Late Winter (Feb 1–Mar 15) — 10:10 or 14:00
• Early Spring (Mar 16–Apr 15) — 9:40 or 15:00
• Spring (Apr 16–May 15) — 9:30 or 16:30
• Late Spring (May 16–Jul 15) — 9:30 or 17:30
• Mid Summer (Jul 16–Aug 15) — 9:30 or 16:30
• Late Summer (Aug 16–Sep 15) — 9:30 or 16:00
• Autumn (Sep 16–Oct 15) — 9:40 or 15:00
• Late Autumn (Oct 16–Nov 30) — 10:00 or 13:30
• Early Winter (Dec 1–31) — 10:20 or 13:00

🏔️ On the mountain
Wengen · Mürren · Grindelwald · Gimmelwald · Zermatt & beyond

• Winter (Jan 1–31) — 10:00 or 14:00
• Late Winter (Feb 1–Mar 15) — 9:40 or 15:00
• Early Spring (Mar 16–Apr 15) — 9:20 or 16:00
• Spring (Apr 16–May 15) — 9:10 or 17:30
• Late Spring (May 16–Jul 15) — 9:10 or 18:30
• Mid Summer (Jul 16–Aug 15) — 9:10 or 17:30
• Late Summer (Aug 16–Sep 15) — 9:10 or 17:00
• Autumn (Sep 16–Oct 15) — 9:20 or 16:00
• Late Autumn (Oct 16–Nov 30) — 9:40 or 14:30
• Early Winter (Dec 1–31) — 10:00 or 14:00

🏙️ In the city
Zürich · Lucerne · Bern · Interlaken & beyond

• Morning: around 8:00 (summer) / 9:00 (winter)
• Evening golden hour: around 19:00 (summer) / 15:30–16:00 (winter)
• Blue hour: 20–30 minutes after sunset, when the sky turns deep blue and the city lights switch on
• Cloudy days: soft, flattering light all day — beautiful for portraits

* A small note: the best time also depends on the weather and the altitude of the location — higher villages like Wengen or Mürren catch the morning sun earlier and hold the light longer, while deep valleys like Lauterbrunnen get direct sun later in the day. So these times are a guide, not a rule. Sometimes the magic happens in the most unexpected hours. 🤎

A late evening in Zürich. Streetlights, old stones, and two people who crossed an ocean just to be here.

They came with outfits perfectly chosen for these streets. The silk dress against centuries-old stone. A dark suit in a warm-lit doorway. They just got it — and I didn’t even have to say a word.

Moments like this make me stop and think — how did they find me? How am I the one who gets to hold these memories for people who come from so far away, who trust me so fully?

Every session stays with me. Not just as images, but as a feeling. The way they moved through the city together. The quiet between poses. The way she smiled at him like it was the most romantic thing in the world.

Question 2 of the series: what should we wear? 👗🤍

The mountains have their own palette — soft greens, misty greys, warm stone, endless sky. The most beautiful photos happen when you dress with that palette, not against it. 🌸
Think creams and blush, terracotta and dark brown, dusty blue and mustard. Soft fabrics that move with the wind. Tones that feel romantic, vintage, and quietly timeless.

Their first baby. 🌿🌼

A golden evening in Zurich, and a love that’s about to grow into three. You can feel it in the way they lean toward each other — that quiet, giddy anticipation of a whole new chapter waiting just ahead.

The last little while of just the two of them. And what a beautiful season to hold onto 🌿.

Some questions come up again and again before a shoot. The weather. The light. The “what if.” 🌿

So I thought — why not answer them here, one by one. A little series for everyone planning their Swiss mountain moment, and for those just dreaming of one.

We’re starting with the one I hear most: what if it rains? Swipe for my answer.

One hour. That’s all we have!

Including hello, the first smiles, the “where should I stand?” — and slowly, slowly, the walls come down. To make a family forget the camera is even there — that’s always the hardest part. It takes time we don’t always have. And it’s the part I pour my heart into, every single session.

This lovely family made it all feel so natural. They ran, they chased, they sat together on the path with the Alps all around them — just pure joy. Little Noel leading the way — wild and free — while mum and dad watched with that quiet kind of love 🌿.

These photos really touched my heart. Because they’re not just images. They’re a rainy-day remedy. The kind you scroll back to years from now, and before you even realize it — you’re smiling again.

If you ever find yourself in the Swiss Alps with the people you love most — I would be so honored to be there, camera in hand, to capture it all for you. 🤍
