Hi, I’ve never introduced myself here. Seems to be a thing, and I actually find it quite cool to learn new things about people. That’s probably why I started freelance photography over 10 years ago.

So I guess it’s my turn now. Photography has opened so many doors to people and their stories. I feel honored and privileged to do what I love every day.

Ok, that escalated quickly. Let’s continue with random facts:

* My dad was a beekeeper and I wanted to learn this craft, but I’m allergic to bees. I love bees. 🐝
* I started playing the violin 2 months ago and I am obsessed. My neighbours are not. 🤭

I’ve opened a new Instagram channel called Karin Bischof | Visual Storytelling where I’ll be sharing stories of our planet and the changing cryosphere. It would mean the world to me if you follow along there!

And this channel will be my portrait channel, where I’ll be posting portraits and brandings.

Excited to share that from June 4–6, I’ll be exhibiting two series: Learning from the Ice While We Can (Documentary of an ice core drilling expedition with the .scherrer.institut and my ongoing series Glacier Poetry.

On Saturday at 5pm, I’ll be talking about my inner drive behind these projects, my thoughts on climate change, and what it was like to work alongside a team of researchers on some of Switzerland’s highest peaks.

And I might spoil what’s coming next.
