春季的黃果樹瀑布，通過黑白攝影語言呈現出這座著名景觀的柔和一面。雖然水量不如豐水期那般磅礴，但春季適中的水流在黑白影像中展現出精緻的色調層次與質感變化。水流優雅地沿著岩石表面傾瀉而下，創造出令人驚歎的視覺韻律。

水霧與飛沫在陽光照耀下形成了豐富的灰階光譜，而水、石、霧和光的交織則營造出一種縹緲而富有沉思氣息的氛圍。黑白處理減少了視覺干擾，轉而引導觀者注意瀑布複雜的紋理與動態。懸浮於空中的水滴與水汽，成為大自然自身的書法。春季的黃果樹瀑布捨棄了壓倒性的力量，轉而展現更為微妙的自然美感，講述著一個更為安靜卻同樣動人的生命力與優雅故事。

黃果樹瀑布是中國最大的瀑布，高77.8米，寬101米，其磅礴氣勢令人嘆為觀止。然而，在這組黑白影像中，我選擇了另一種視角，捕捉其細膩的質感與節奏，而非單純展示其壯觀。通過黑白攝影的詩意語言，瀑布的每一處細節都成為一種情感表達——水與石的對話、光與影的舞蹈，以及永恆與瞬間的交織。

Fourth Series: Huangguoshu Waterfall

Spring at Huangguoshu Waterfall, captured in black and white, presents a gentler face of this famous landmark. Though not at its most forceful volume, the moderate spring flow, when rendered in monochrome, reveals exquisite gradations of tone and texture. The water descends gracefully over rock faces, creating visual rhythms of remarkable subtlety.

Mist and spray create a spectrum of greys when caught in sunlight, while the intermingling of water, stone, mist and light produces an ethereal, contemplative atmosphere. The monochrome treatment minimizes distraction, drawing attention instead to the waterfall's intricate patterns and motion. Droplets and vapour captured in momentary suspension become nature's own calligraphy. This spring incarnation of Huangguoshu eschews overwhelming power for a more nuanced expression of natural beauty, telling a quieter but equally compelling story of vitality and grace.

Huangguoshu Waterfall is China's largest waterfall, standing 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, its majestic presence truly awe-inspiring. However, in this series of monochrome images, I've chosen a different perspective, capturing its delicate textures and rhythms rather than simply showcasing its grandeur. Through the poetic language of black and white photography, every detail of the waterfall becomes an emotional expression—the dialogue between water and stone, the dance of light and shadow, and the interweaving of the eternal and the momentary.

In this final chapter of my four-part Guizhou monochrome series, these images of Huangguoshu Waterfall serve both as an ode to natural beauty and as the purest visual tribute to water as an element of life. Through the black and white medium, we see not only the waterfall's external form but also feel its internal pulse of life and rhythmic soul.

宏福苑回家．第二天｜ Leica 鏡頭被燒焦　價值近 $70 萬

宏新閣居民今（21日）第二日上樓，中層住戶盧先生，接近中午時份，拖著一袋由家中執拾到的物品離開，內裏是大批 Leica 相機鏡頭，約值 60 至 70 萬元。他表示，攝影器材裝了兩個櫃，他喜愛拍攝，有約 50 多年拍攝的年資。他表示，燒焦了的鏡頭，會保存「望吓」，他又說，最重要是人安全。
朝早上樓，住了三十多年的盧先生，從14樓單位放到手推車上，只有兩個密實袋，放有他珍而重之，卻在火場中燒毁的 Leica 相機、鏡頭。
熱衷攝影的他說，當年以這批鏡頭幫人拍結婚相，因此選擇將這批原本價值六、七十萬的珍藏，帶離火場。
盧先生又指，當局安排上樓後，只從社工收到一張門口相片「都知道無㗎啦，望一望、鞠個躬。」
他說，單位內梳化只燒剩彈簧、「其他燒得嘅都燒。被問到回家心情，盧先生說，「有咩心情？無就無㗎啦，做人樂觀啲！」、「人安全最緊要，最緊要生命，你有生命先有得玩」

#花江峽谷大橋

花江峽谷大橋系列記錄了人類野心的具體化身。從多個角度拍攝，這座破紀錄的公路橋既與自然環境和諧共存，又向大自然發起挑戰。黑白處理強調了大橋的結構優雅與工程精確性，而壯觀的雲層形成與鋼鐵框架之間產生強烈對比，凸顯了人類與自然世界之間錯綜複雜的關係。

懸於北盤江之上的花江大橋，是中國在山區基礎設施建設中的傑出代表。大橋全長2,890米，主跨達1,420米，距河谷底部高達625米。曾經需要數小時繞行峽谷的旅程，如今只需幾分鐘。在黑白影像中，大橋清晰的輪廓與煙霧繚繞的山峰形成戲劇性的對話——堅固的工程對比瞬息萬變的雲層，現代連通性對比古老峽谷。

This monumental feat of engineering—the world's highest vehicular bridge—stretches across the immense gorge with a graceful audacity that speaks to human ingenuity and ambition. In this third installment of my four-part series exploring Guizhou in monochrome, I examine how the stark language of black and white elevates our appreciation of scale, form, and the delicate balance between human achievement and natural grandeur.

Third Series: Huajiang Gorge Bridge

The Huajiang Gorge Bridge series documents human ambition made manifest. Photographed from multiple perspectives, this record-breaking vehicular bridge both complements and challenges its natural setting. The monochrome treatment emphasizes the bridge's structural elegance and engineering precision, while dramatic cloud formations create a powerful contrast with the steel framework, highlighting humanity's complex relationship with the natural world.

Without colour's distraction, the bridge's architectural elements assume greater prominence, with light and shadow accentuating its three-dimensional presence. These images record not merely an engineering achievement but also speak to our capacity to integrate human ingenuity with natural splendour.

Suspended high above the Beipan River, this bridge exemplifies China's remarkable infrastructure development in mountainous regions. The bridge spans a total length of 2,890 meters with a main span of 1,420 meters, soaring an incredible 625 meters above the river valley below. What might have once been a journey of hours around the canyon is now reduced to minutes. In monochrome, the bridge's crisp silhouette against the misty mountains creates a dramatic dialogue between the permanent and the ephemeral—solid engineering against transient clouds, modern connectivity against ancient gorges.

This engineering marvel not only crosses technical boundaries but connects past with future, tradition with modernity. It serves as a link between mountains, a symbol of human-nature coexistence, and a gateway connecting Guizhou to the wider world. The builders overcame unprecedented engineering challenges, creating not just a bridge but a pathway of hope that connects hearts and transforms lives of mountain communities, turning what was once a dividing canyon into a unifying bond.

From the geometric precision of mountain-top solar farms to the soaring engineering marvel of Huajiang Gorge Bridge, from delicate cherry blossoms caught in spring light to the gentle cascade of Huangguoshu Falls—these four series capture Guizhou's compelling fusion of innovation and nature, modernity and tradition, human stories and natural grandeur. Through the elemental language of shadow and light, I invite viewers to experience the profound richness of Guizhou beyond its celebrated chromatic diversity.
