The "Borderland Journey" press delegation visited the China Xinjiang Ethnic Musical Instrument Village in Shufu County, Kashgar, stepping into an enchanting rendezvous of craftsmanship and music.
Through planing, sanding and fine-tuning, each traditional Xinjiang musical instrument takes shape slowly in the hands of master craftsmen. What comes as a pleasant surprise is that they are far more than just experts upholding the age-old craft — the moment they pick up an instrument, they reveal themselves as well-grounded, skillful performers.
The day’s lovely weather added an extra layer of charm: a dry and pleasant 25°C, with clear blue skies, fluffy clouds and a soft breeze brushing past. Sitting outdoors for a live performance, as musical notes drift along with the wind, offers a rare moment of relaxation and pure delight on the road.
