Some photos from Middlesex Fells Reservation on May 9th. After leading a bird walk, I hung out with my camera to do some more birding. It was drizzling lightly off and on, but I had to take advantage of the overcast day! Loved the light! 🙂

I'll be leading another walk there on Sunday, May 17th at 8am. If you're interested, please click the link below to register. https://www.thegreatmaldenoutdoors.com/store/p/tgmo-rx-birding-tours-with-nature-man-mike-8nne4

Be the voice for the voiceless. Call your MA state representative by May 19 to request they ask Chair Aaron Michlewitz and the House Ways & Means Committee to strengthen Sections 74 and 75 of the Mass Ready Act by including the language from H5217, which would phase out the use of anticoagulant rodenticides statewide.

We want each of the 160 state representatives to receive at least 10 phone calls from their constituents. Together we have power.

Let’s use it to advocate for a ban on anticoagulant rodent poisons across Massachusetts!

Thanks to everyone who joined Fenway Civic Association's "Birds of the Back Bay Fens" annual bird walk! It was a pleasure birding with you! I had a wonderful time leading the walk! The birds were very active yesterday! Great views of Black-and-white Warblers, Magnolia Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Palm Warbler and Common Yellowthroat. The Baltimore Orioles were also giving good views! It was a fantastic morning of birding! Big shout out to the birds for showing up! I appreciate it! 😄 Thank you Fenway Civic Association!

Photo dump from my walk at Franklin Park on May 8th. The sun was a bit too bright and I wasn't feeling the light, but the activity was fantastic! I knew I wasn't going to get the photos I desired because of the harsh light, so I decided to do a documentation post. The Black-and-white Warblers were showing out! 📸 🐦

Join me and park friends for an evening bird walk at Franklin Park on Friday, May 15th, 5pm-7pm, courtesy of the Franklin Park Coalition. This is a free event! Registration is not required. Just show up! Beginner birders are encouraged to join! 🙂 🐦

We will search for spring migrants and resident birds near the Scarboro Hill and pond area. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Limited loaner binoculars will be available on a first come, first served basis. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing for the weather conditions. Expect to walk 1-2 miles on paved paths. The nearest restrooms are at the Franklin Park Golf Course Clubhouse. In the event of heavy rain, the walk will be canceled.

Meeting location: Meet by the tennis courts next to Shattuck Picnic Grove on Circuit Drive. Google "Shattuck Picnic Grove, Boston, Ma" for GPS navigation. Street parking is available. Accessible via bus and subway (Forest Hills stop on Orange Line). The tennis courts are under construction, so there's no physical tennis courts at the moment, but Shattuck Picnic Grove is the location for meetup.
