This large Strangler Fig (Ficus sp.) had buttress roots so large and wide that they were at my side length, so large that you hoped not walked over them. It was obviously a large and old tree that was preserved. There were many of these Strangler Figs throughout the forest as well as countless other species. It was through the foresight of people who wanted to conserve these rainforests that we can still experience them today. @ Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve Costa Rica
