To any Adventurous Souls out there,
I know it's been a while since my last post with Go Outdoor Photography, unfortunately, due to several and personal reasons, I'm no longer able to provide the attention and level of work that this brand deserves, therefore, I've decided to close down this project.
However, a simple and quick goodbye wouldn't be ideal for something that I have invested not only time and money but my own sweat and dedication. This is why I came up with El Cerro Durika: The Last Journey, a love letter to anyone that has been supportive and appreciative of my work throughout the past few years, but mainly, my biggest show of gratitude to my friends and family, every memory I have with them is my most cherished treasure. It's been some crazy and interesting years since I started with this project, and it does bring a tear to my eye (well, perhaps more than one) to say goodbye to what was not only a dream but an idea of what a better world could and should be.
El Cerro Durika was my biggest feat to date, a three-day hike through steep hills and remote forests in the Talamanca Region, a beautiful place full of high peaks and interesting locations to shoot in. Packed with nothing more than my personal phone, I embarked on this journey accompanied with what I'm lucky to call my best friends, Adrian Herrera and Daniel Hernandez, as well as few other crew members which I had the pleasure to meet. Thanks to the expertise of our guide, Omar Zuñiga, we were successfully able to reach the top of one of the most beautiful peaks in our country and enjoy some epic site sighting that will be forever imprinted in my mind. I do hope these images can transmit the epicness and indescribable feeling of being on those mountain ridges.
I've always considered myself, first and foremost, a nature lover. It's in my deepest instincts, to keep seeking adventure and I know for a fact that this won't be my last trip. It is however, the last one that I'll be doing for GOP. With a few more things left to say, but few little words to actually do so, I thank every single person involved with Go Outdoor Photography, your presence has made this time completely worthwhile.
This is, The Last Journey.
Best,
Alfonso Castro
