Los comederos pueden darnos buenas fotografías de algunos hermosos colibríes, pero hay otras especies que casi nunca visitan jardines de colibríes.
El esquivo Colibrí Pico de Lanza es una de esas especies, así que me alegré mucho cuando logré tomar esta fotografía.
es un buen lugar para observar aves. De hecho, algunas de las fotografías que tengo en mi feed (incluida esta) fueron tomadas allí. Así que realmente les recomiendo que visiten este paraíso.

Feeders can give us good pictures of beautiful hummingbirds, but there are some species that almost never visit hummingbird gardens.
The elusive Green-fronted Lancebill is one of those species, so I got very happy when I managed to take this picture.
is such a good place for birding. Actually, some of the pictures i have in my feed (including this one) were taken there. So I really recommend you visit this paradise.

Yo suelo tener mucho cuidado cuando voy al bosque. Aún así, el miércoles pasado casi piso esta belleza.
Su patrón críptico y su tamaño hacen que esta víbora sea casi imposible de ver en el suelo del bosque.
Ver esta especie fue especial para mí, ya que, el género Porthidium es uno de mis favoritos y como no suelo visitar Guanacaste regularmente, no la conocía.

I tend to be very careful when hiking in the forest, but last Wednesday, I almost stepped on this beauty.
Its cryptic pattern and its size make this viper almost impossible to see in the forest floor.
Seeing this species was special for me because the genus Porthidium is one of my favorites, and since I don't visit Guanacaste regularly i didn't know it.

Para mí, este es el Mono Cariblanco de los pájaros, ¡así que cuidado con tu comida!
Esta Urraca es común en el país y en algunos lugares suele tener una relación muy estrecha con los humanos.
La Urraca Copetona es una de esas especies que ha sabido adaptarse al desorden que estamos provocando en el planeta.
Pero tenemos que tener en cuenta que hay otras especies que son mucho más frágiles y que desaparecerán si no hacemos nada.

For me, this is the White-faced Capuchin of birds, so take care of your food!
This jay is kind of common in the country, and in some places, it has a very close relationship with humans.
White-throated Magpie-Jay is one of those species that has been able to adapt to the mess we are doing with the planet.
But we have to keep in mind that there are other species that are much more fragile, and they will disappear if we don't do anything.

Me encanta fotografiar ese tipo de aves que son bastante comunes pero difíciles de ver.
El hermoso Mosquerito de Yelmo siempre está cantando, ¡pero hay que dedicarle algo de tiempo si se quiere fotografiar de la mejor manera!
Hace unos días estaba intentando fotografiar al esquivo Gallito Hormiguero Cabecinegro (fue imposible), y apareció este pequeño, así que le tomé algunas fotografías.

I love to photograph those kinds of birds that are pretty common but difficult to see.
The beautiful Scale-crested Pygmy-Tyrant is always singing, but you have to spend some time if you want to take good pictures of it!
Some days ago, I was trying to photograph the elusive Black-headed Antthrush (it was impossible for me), and this little fellow appeared, so I took some pictures of it.

Esta es una de mis aves rapaces favoritas desde que comencé a observar aves.
He tenido la suerte de ver este gran rapaz muchas veces, ya que, es bastante común aquí en La Paz. Sin embargo, en todas esas ocasiones estaba volando.
No fue hasta hoy que pude tomar algunas fotografías de este hermoso animal perchado.
¡Qué ave tan impresionante! Siempre estoy agradecido por compartir tiempo con las aves.

This is one of my favorite raptors since I started birding.
I have seen this big raptor many times since it is pretty common here in La Paz. However, on all these occasions, the bird was flying.
It was not until today that I was able to take some pictures of this beautiful animal perched.
What an impressive bird! I will always be grateful to share time with birds!

Este hermoso anolis es uno de los más característicos del país. Con solo echarle un vistazo a su cabeza y nariz se puede reconocer.
El Anolis de Nariz Chata puede alcanzar grandes tamaños. Este individuo era bastante grande y su patrón era asombroso.
De hecho ese patrón que mencioné antes hace que se camufle en el ambiente y desaparezca por completo.

This beautiful anole is one of the most characteristic of the country. Just taking a look at its head and nose, you can recognize it.
The Pug-nosed Anole can reach big sizes. This individual was quite big, and its pattern was amazing.
Actually, that pattern that I mentioned before makes it camouflage itself in the environment and completely disappear.

Estoy completamente enamorado de la familia Centrolenidae (Ranas de Cristal).
Existen muchas especies de esta familia aquí en Costa Rica, algunas de ellas son bastante comunes y ampliamente distribuidas en nuestro país.
La Rana de Cristal Polvorienta es una de esas especies comunes, pero es una de las más bellas.
El fin de semana pasado finalmente pude tomar algunas fotos de esta hermosa especie. Había muchos individuos y también puestas de huevos.

I am completely in love with the Centrolenidae family (Glassfrogs).
There are many species of this family here in Costa Rica, and some of them are common and widely distributed in our country.
The Dusty Glassfrog is one of these common species, but it is one of the most beautiful ones.
Last weekend, I was finally able to take some photos of this beautiful species. There were many individuals, and also, egg clutches.

Esta víbora no necesita presentación. Definitivamente, es la reina del bosque nuboso.
Llevo años disfrutando de ver esta especie y nunca me aburro. Cada vez me sorprenden más sus colores y tomarle fotos siempre es muy emocionante.
Este individuo es uno de mis favoritos hasta el momento debido a su intenso patrón verde, azul y amarillo.

This viper doesn't need an introduction. Definitely, it is the queen of the cloud forest.
I never get bored of seeing this species. Every single time, I get amazed even more by its colors, and taking photos of it is so exciting.
This individual is one of my favorites at the moment due to its intense green, blue and yellow pattern.

Como probablemente sabrán, las salamandras son bastante difíciles de encontrar, incluso si hablamos de especies comunes.
Afortunadamente, vio a este individuo en una pequeña rama. ¡Sin duda, esta belleza fue la sorpresa de la noche de ayer!
Esta Salamandra tiene una amplia distribución en nuestro país. Sin embargo, es elusiva y sus poblaciones han disminuido en los últimos años.

As you will probably know, salamanders are quite difficult to find, even if we talk about common species.
Fortunately, spotted this individual in a small branch. Without any doubt, this beauty was the highlight of yesterday night!
The Montane Webfoot Salamander is relatively widespread in our country. However, it is a secretive species, and their populations have been decreasing during the last years.

Esta especie es uno de los miembros más pequeños de la familia Centrolenidae (20 mm machos, 24 mm hembras).
Hace unas semanas vimos un ejemplar de Espadarana prosoblepon muy parecido a esta especie. Este error de identificación es bastante común, ya que, son muy similares.
San Ramón es un buen lugar si quieren buscar ranas de cristal. Son pocas las especies de esta familia que no son habitantes de la región.

This species is one of the smallest members of the Centrolenidae family (20 mm males, 24 mm females).
Some weeks ago, we saw an individual of Espadarana prosoblepon very similar to this species. This identification mistake is pretty common since they are very similar.
San Ramón is a good place if you want to look for Glass Frogs. There are just a few species of this family that aren't inhabitants of the San Ramón region.

La Bocaracá es una hermosa serpiente con una amplia variedad de morfos. Uno de los más comunes es el morfo conocido como "Oropel" (amarillo con algunas otras tonalidades suaves como blanco o marrón), pero hay muchos otros colores.
Hoy quiero mostrarles a este hermoso individuo que vimos ayer por la noche.
Es definitivamente, la Bocaracá más pequeño que he visto en mi vida, pero una de las más hermosas.
Tomar fotos de esta especie es muy difícil porque nunca deja de moverse, pero afortunadamente logré capturar estas tres imágenes para compartirlas con ustedes.

The Eyelash Palm Pitviper is a beautiful snake with a wide variety of morphs. One of the most common is the "Oropel" morph (yellow with a little white or brown), but there are many other colors.
Today, I want to show you this beautiful individual that we saw yesterday night.
It is the smallest Eyelash Palm Pitviper I have ever seen, but also one of the most beautiful.
Taking photos of this species is so difficult because it never stops moving, but fortunately, I managed to capture these three pictures so I could share them with you.

Desde hace muchos meses, en un pequeño arroyo cerca de mi casa, he estado escuchando esta ranita. Sin embargo, siempre está demasiado alto en los árboles, así que no había podido sacarle una foto hasta la noche del pasado miércoles.
La Rana de Vidrio Granulosa es uno de mis centrolenidos favoritos, así que me alegró mucho ver dos individuos diferentes y también una puesta de huevos.

I have been listening to this frog since many months ago in a small stream near to my home, but it has always been too high up in the trees. So it was impossible for me to get a photo of this glassfrog until last Wednesday's night.
The Granular Glassfrog is one of my favorites members of the Centrolenidae family, so I was very happy to see two different individuals and also an eggs clutch.
