Surprising things can happen when you confront what scares you the most. Below, my first and only film, and one that I never thought I would complete. It's far from perfect, but something I'm proud to have accomplished.

'La Rumba para Sobrevivir/Rumba to Survive' - provides an overview of the rich genre of music and dance that is distinctly Cuban. Rumba remains a source of livelihood for 'los rumberos', musicians, dancers and teachers of the art.

My one week trip to Havana this September 2015 was short but sweet. Although there will never been enough time to spend in this amazing city, I managed to go dancing every day, catch-up with old friends, take dance classes from my favourite instructors, see five concerts, and visit some new and exciting places. Havana, you never cease to amaze me.

Rumbakwa fuses Afro Latin rhythms with music from around the world and electronic beats, maintaining still the flavour of traditional Cuban rumba; in a word - incredible.

We're almost through the month of May, it's hard to believe it's come and gone! The May edition of Bailando on May 9 was the best one yet, with friends coming down from Montreal to party, within 24 hours we danced rueda in two clubs, in two provinces and on the street.  In one word it was awesome!  …
