The idea about printing photos after vacation came to me not so long ago.
First, I’ve heard about this from my friend. 2 years ago, she decided to print only 5 photos from each month and she has been continuing to do this till now. Of course, there are more than 5 photos after vacations but for everyday life it is normal amount. I saw her albums; they are full of nice and bright moments of her family life. As you see it is not so big amount per month but what is valuable for future moments her family gather together to look through the albums or when her small daughter asks her: “Show me! Show me!”.
I bet that when you have thousands of photos for 5-7 years it is not possible to sort out all folders and choose not huge amount for printing.
First of all, it is boring to spend hours and hours choosing appropriate photos.
Then you are going to printing shop, asking the price and multiplying by the number of chosen photos and… you decide not to print anything, it is too expensive, am I right?

That is why I want to share with you this idea to print very small amount of photo every month.

In previous post I told you about my new habit to choose some photos from my holidays and print them.
It is better to do exactly after vacation while your memories are fresh and you still remember those feelings and joy when the photos were made. Every time I thought that it would be easy to choose 5-10 photos from one vacation, but I was wrong… Our world is so beautiful, I catch amazing nature, views, emotions of people, animals, and I realized that it is so hard for me to choose only 10 photos.
My minimum quantity of photos from small vacation was 50 printed photos.
Can you guess the biggest amount?

Today I had discussion with one guy about digital world, about reading news, books online, making photos and keeping them in computers, clouds, forgetting about existence of our photos, breaking hard disks and our disappointments when we can’t reach any information in our computers.
Now we have electronic versions for almost everything but I strongly believe that feeling paper in your hand, smell of books, albums can’t be replaced with phone or e-book.
Yes, the digital world is a gift for everyone. Do you remember when we couldn’t watch the images immediately? We had to wait with all our patience until we make 12/24/36 frames in the roll of photo camera before coming to the photo lab for printing those photos. And only then we could see the finished photo. We appreciated each frame that day!
Now we are not limited in frames and we don’t need to print all of our digital photos BUT we have a great opportunity to pick and choose which photos to make REAL.

Do you agree with an idea that our satisfaction is not totally realized until we have printed our photos?
It’s like a musical composition that is never played, or car that never drives, or pizza that has never been eaten…
We spend energy creating the photos, just like we do for all those other things. We prepare nice clothes, do make-up, look for a nice place, body position, pay money for photoshoot, publish photo it in social app, gather ‘likes’ and … that’s all. Then we just forget…
Another situation: you caught a very funny or cute moment of your kid’s life, again you put it in social apps, gather ‘likes’ and forget about it. What will you do in 3-5-10-15-20 years? Will you remember that photo? Will you scroll down all your accounts or sort out folders in your computer in order to find that cute memory and show your adult child what you remember about him? Will you lose that photo and that memory?
Think about tomorrow today.
Just make a habit of printing 5 -10 or more of the best memories from your vacations and holidays.
