Hier nochmal der zum Bild dazugehörige, zum Nachdenken anregende Text, wie ich ihn auf meiner Webseite veröffentlicht habe. Meine nicht deutschsprachigen Follower mögen bitte ihren Facebook-Übersetzungs-Button nutzen.

"Seid Ihr nicht auch der Meinung, dass sein Charisma die gesellschaftliche Stimmungslage in weiten Teilen der Welt auf beeindruckende Weise widerspiegelt ? Ein Penny für seine Gedanken …

Mittlerweile scheint sich die Tragweite weltweiter Krisen bereits auf den Gemütszustand südafrikanischer Tiger übertragen zu haben. Kriege hier, Krisen dort, ein kaum noch umkehrbarer Klimawandel, Preisexplosionen, Hungersnöte und Armut, wo auch immer man hinsieht. Stattdessen schweift die Menschheit immer weiter gen Weltraum ab, oder probiert ihre Gedankenlosigkeit mittes KI-generierter Gehirnprothesen zu ersetzen. Wo sind sie geblieben, die menschlichen Werte, welche definieren, was als richtig, wichtig und erstrebenswert gilt, wie Respekt, Ehrlichkeit, Freiheit und Mitgefühl. Selbst der gesunde Menschenverstand scheint mittlerweile auf der Strecke geblieben zu sein.

Der wunderschöne Tiger schien mich mit seinem intensiven und fokussierten Blick daran erinnern zu wollen, den Menschen rund um den Globus mal wieder die wirklich wichtigen Dinge des Lebens ins Gedächtnis zu rufen. Denkt mal wieder über Worte, wie Gerechtigkeit, Sicherheit, Anstand und Würde nach, um nur einige aufzuführen. Das sind Dinge, die uns alle angehen, sie sind die Basis unseres Zusammenlebens. Hinzu kommen fundamentale Werte, wie unantastbare Menschenrechte, Gleichberechtigung, Meinungsfreiheit und Toleranz.

Nach seinem, mich durchdringenden Blick, lächelte mich der Tiger an, denn er fühlte, daß ich seine Botschaft verstanden hatte !"

FACE LIKE A MASK II

With this photo of a drill, I want to draw attention once again to one of Africa's most endangered primates. They are on the IUCN Red List and are among the most threatened species worldwide.

The main reasons for the threat to the drill lie in the hunt for the sought-after bushmeat and in the clearing of rainforests for the extraction of tropical timber and farmland.

Only about 3,000 drills remain in the wild, mostly found in the border region between Nigeria and Cameroon, which is currently inaccessible due to extreme political tensions.

TUSKER CRAIG - AN OBITUARY ❤

Here's another photo of Craig, which many of my followers really liked, but which some of you may not have seen yet. The photo was taken on June 28, 2022, at 9:10 a.m. in Kintenden. It was a fantastic sunny day, dotted with small cloud formations that occasionally provided a little bit of cooling.

Craig was born in January 1972 and died of natural causes (old age) on January 3, 2026.

He was considered one of the last Super Tuskers in the world and one of the largest bull elephants ever. He spent most of his life in the area of Amboseli National Park in southwestern Kenya, very close to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, located on the Tanzanian side.

Due to his calm nature and his willingness to share his habitat with the local Maasai, he became a true legend over the years. Craig is considered the most photographed elephant in Africa, especially because of his enormous, almost ground-length tusks.

His long and largely safe life was primarily due to the protection of the Massai, who took Craig to their hearts and cherished him like the apple of their eyes. I would especially like to acknowledge my friend David (photo in the comments). Together we spent a great deal of time with Craig and were able to capture some fantastic photographs. I took this photo of David on July 1, 2022 in Tawi.

Thanks also to the work of local conservation organizations, Craig was not killed by poachers, as so many of his kind were, but died of natural causes.

He died of natural causes today in Amboseli. I am so incredibly sad ... I am at a loss for words.

The cheetah was standing on a broken tree in my favorite conservancy, gazing at the rising sun. If he was pondering the future, I hope it will turn out well for all of us as soon as possible.

I'd also like to thank my entire team again for their outstanding work. You are people who have dedicated their hearts to nature. It doesn't get any better than that. Love you all.

THE SUMMITEER

An extraordinary image of a buffalo standing on the summit.

Did you know that African buffalo live at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters? They will not only find food there, but especially protection and peace. Exceptions were found on Mount Kenya, where such animals were discovered at altitudes of up to 4,700 meters.

I love this picture because it gives me the impression of freedom and endless space. Simply stand at the top, enjoy the peace and quiet, completely free from the hustle and bustle, stress and other stressful things.

However, freedom does not come by itself. You have to be willing to do something for it, move and work towards it. Ultimately, you alone determine the peak of your own freedom. No one else has the right to tell you what freedom means.

So, take courage, get going, even if some beginnings may be difficult. The reward awaits at the summit.

JABARI´S STRENUOUS CLIMB

The handsome boy was not amused, as it was a truly oppressive hot day. Nevertheless, Jabari followed us and struggled up the slope with great effort. A short time later, we took a small break before continuing uphill. The summer heat was truly incredible, we hardly wanted to move.

Once we reached the top, our paths diverged for the day. Jabari found a shady spot under a small tree, while we continued our drive towards camp to refresh ourselves and enjoy our lunch, which consisted mainly of ice cream.

I took this photo in the Mara Triangle Conservancy in the middle of summer.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the beautiful autumn in Germany and am already looking forward to the upcoming "Tour of Specialties," which will focus exclusively on big cats. Take care and stay healthy - Hakuna Matata
