A wealthy dentist once lived with his family in this now-abandoned house. He ran his own practice in some of the rooms.

It’s a truly fascinating time capsule where time seems to have stood still.

Vergessen in Lichtenstein – der alte Unionhof

Einst wurde hier gefeiert, getanzt und gemeinsam Zeit verbracht. Viele kennen das Gebäude noch als Kulturhaus „7. Oktober“, später wurde es als Diskothek „UNI“ bekannt.

Heute ist es still geworden an der Glauchauer Straße. Die Musik ist längst verstummt, die letzten Gäste sind gegangen – zurück geblieben sind leere Räume und die Spuren einer längst vergangenen Zeit.

This castle has had an eventful history: built in the 19th century, it became an exclusive hotel during the GDR era, hosting even international artists and diplomats. Following its closure in 2014, a Chinese consortium purchased the castle in 2016 with grand plans for a new luxury hotel. However, the planned revival never materialised – instead, construction was halted, the building stood empty and fell into disrepair, meaning that the former luxury hotel now tells a very different story.
