It seems journalism has become more dangerous than it has already been in the last years. UNESCO figures show that 2023 has been a particularly deadly year for journalists and i dont imagine the work is getting less dangerous with tensions rising. ⁠
So this is an appreciation post for those who brave it to be journalists, one of them - Shammi Haque has devoted her life to journalism with a focus on human rights. I got to meet Shammi for my exhibition and im grateful to have met such an inspiring person. ⁠

Throwback to La Guarimba Film Residency in Italy - I think many of you know the passion I have for film... Ive taken many detours on my path to film, then to photography and now to film again. But i believe thats how we stay true to our selves. Its important to not force yourself to stick to a path youve chosen for yourself years ago.. deep down we all know whats right for us, what brings us joy and what is pulling us towards our next adventure. and to be honest.. it seems to be that film making is going to take up much more of my day to day life again, while continuing to pursue photography. ⁠

Part One: Most of you know me for my portrait and event photography, which makes up about 90% of my feed. But there’s another passion of mine that I don’t often share here – documentary-style travel photography. 🌍✈️ To some, these images might seem ordinary, but to me, they’re anything but. Scrolling through Insta, I’ve noticed how many pro shots out there kinda forget this thing we all love - smiling. 😊 Sure, not every pic I snap is all smiles, but let’s be real, a good smile is pretty much the secret sauce in photography. It’s not just about looking good, it’s science, folks! Smiling pumps out those happy hormones, telling your brain, ‚Hey, we’re all good here!‘ And that’s key to nailing those relaxed, natural shots.⁠

Ever felt awkward in front of a camera? Well, you’re not alone. But here’s the deal: if you’re not comfy, it shows. That’s why my number one priority during shoots is to bring on the smiles. Yep, I’ll even do my best clown impression if that’s what it takes to make you feel at ease! 📸 Because in the end, those genuine smiles? They make the shot. Best Example? These Pictures of ⁠
