Persons Projects (formerly Gallery Taik Persons) was established in 1995 in Helsinki Finland. It is the prime gallery for those selected artists who now make up what is known as the "Helsinki School". It has grown into one of the leading photographic galleries in northern Europe with its permanent exhibition space situated in Berlin since 2003.

‘Geometry of Light’ explores, for the first time, the direct influence of Karl Benjamin’s hard-edge painting on the early conceptual photography of Grey Crawford. Though working in different media, both artists were rooted in Southern California and shared a common visual language — one grounded in the precise use of geometry, structure, and abstraction.⁠

💫 Ongoing series: ‘Silence’ by Mikko Rikala⁠

We are so excited to share some behind the scenes of Mikko Rikala’s new work.
⁠
In his project ‘Silence’, the artist records his presence in various natural environments, dedicating one hour at a time to attentive listening, focusing on stillness and the subtle sounds of his surroundings. This practice of deep listening and heightened awareness is also central to works such as ‘The Joy Prevails’, which cultivate an intensified visual consciousness, allowing the passage of time and the simple act of being to acquire new significance.⁠
⁠
By incorporating both natural and human-made elements, Rikala invites contemplation of the intricate interconnectedness of existence. His works blur the boundaries between past and present, self and environment. In doing so, they reveal the layered complexity of human experience.⁠
