The path of a lifetime. A road without beginning or end.

You board the train that carries you to an unknown, but such a desirable goal — so understandable, but at the same time unattainable.

When it gets closer, everything merges into one - people, landscapes, thoughts, faces and sounds. The colours are getting brighter. The pulse quickens.

You reach out to grab it, but it eludes you again. Sweeps by. It flows like sand through your fingers.

And now new unexplored horizons beckon you.

So, back on the road.

Beholder (video, 2022)

Today, the whole world is watching the war unfolding in Ukraine on YouTube, Facebook and IG stories. Russia's invasion is heavily documented on social media, which has become a primary source of news, as well as the most powerful and dangerous political tool.

On one hand, this stream of information forces people to pay attention and gives them a window into the experiences of people in Ukraine.
On the other hand, hundreds of videos, photos and aggressive texts by “Armchair Warriors’” are being posted daily just to get more likes and shares, even though such content seriously affects public mental health.

My work “Beholder” was inspired by the image of “Armchair Warrior”. It shows how endless stream of information makes me lose my mind.

P.S.: «Armchair warrior» is a pejorative term that alludes to verbally fighting from the comfort of one's living room. It describes activities such as speaking out in support of a war, battle, or fight by someone with little or no military experience.

«War and Peace» video presentation will be taking place tomorrow (17.03) at Quadrat in terms of Berlin Fashion Week

With this video we want to tell you a story about Donetsk: the capital of self-proclaimed rebel republic of Donetsk. Surrounded by slag heaps, Donetsk is the main city in the mining basin of Donbas, situated at the heart of a cultural battle between Kyiv and Moscow. Escaped Kyiv’s control in 2014, Donetsk region have been locked in armed conflict for over 8 years.

For the work «War and Peace» we animated still photos, taken by Yegan Mazandarani during his trip to Donetsk to depict people’s will to live, that unites them, and show that even in the times of war life is still going on.

"The initial idea of “Rinsed Aura” was built by inspirations from the mutation of “social repression”. Citizens claim their own “justice”, surveil each other, and it makes them too blind to look at the essence of matter. Social media and pandemic accelerated those fragmentation of people, as Frances Haugen mentioned about Facebook’s algorithm.
Both sound and lyrics of “Rinsed Aura” represent not only frustrations against the friction among our society, but also glorification of strength and Imagination of suppressed people."
