UFO House! Last year, I spent a cold and somewhat windy night under the stars, capturing a 360° panorama in Bohemian Switzerland. Since I saw a picture of that funky building a few years ago, I thought it'd be fun to shoot it at night (it turns out I wasn't the only one with that idea). It was also fun to give it a little light and running back and forth between the camera and the next shot.
What wasn't so fun was the wind that night. I couldn't get the foreground as still as I would have liked to, and tracking the sky was also a mission. In the end, I got something and decided to go a little more wild in the edit with the ha for this one. Don't think I'll stick with that but was fun to try. Swipe for a few more details!

Either clouds or moon so far this year...boo! So here's another one from almost exactly a year ago.
I posted a slightly tighter 20mm shot a while ago. However, I also liked this wider view and started shooting it after the other...and slowly made it into the first light of the blue hour (you can already see it creeping in). Normally, that's what I'd try to avoid, but I liked it in this one.

A few days ago, I went to this very popular viewpoint in to photograph the famous blossom street. However, whilst it looks great in daylight, I was more interested in a night photo of the place. Ideally, I would have loved it with the Milky Way on top but the clouds and the moon had other plans for this year.
Nevertheless, with the halfmoon out, I waited quite a bit in the cold for a car to come by. I stood there and already thought of giving up, as in almost two hours, not a single car drove past! Then, finally, with major excitement, a first car came down, then another and then another, then the opposite direction. Suddenly, I even had options to try another lens for a wider shot, with the moon in it.
I'll be back for that Milky Way shot one day, but for now, swipe for several stages of blue hour photos all the way to moon photos!

Since it's been cloudy, grey and rainy, I haven't been out at night in a while. Therefore, I decided to edit this shot from last year.
Rho Ophiuchi is a favourite of many, myself included, and I took this from a location not too far from home. It looks a little surreal, but it's what's floating past us at night. Wild, isn't it?
That beloved seems so small in relation to the Milky Way is because it was shot from quite far away. Tried a few deep-sky editing techniques and was surprised by how much I was able to get out of it. If you swipe, you can see the full version a little larger! And thanks to .ig for the deepscape expertise!

Oh deer! Five of them. And they were not really bothered but slowly and gracefully walked + munched away when I arrived at this location. However, I couldn't convince them to stay and had to put myself into the photo instead. Boo!

This is my final winter arch pano from last year (almost exactly a year ago), and my personal biggest pano effort so far. Lots of frames for a stacked and tracked sky, the foreground, selfie, and done over two nights, also collecting the red ha you can see quite prominently in this massive panorama at one of my favourite places.

For the sky, I initially shot 19 panels of 3 x 60s but didn't have to use all of them, mostly 20 x 60s for the reds and then all the foreground (10 images) and a few selfie attempts. All put together, it ended up as a big colourful early spring memory, and I hope the weather will allow for another one soon!

I've added a few cropped slides to swipe through, check them out!

Meltdown. With the cold apparently coming back, I decided to squeeze this panorama in. A while ago, I headed out into the night, and as so often, nothing went as planned. The snow had already melted a lot, it was very windy (which meant to tracking possible), and I had a lot of trouble putting this one together when I got back due to the way I shot it. However, I sat with it for a while and got it okay. And, since I don't do selfies very often, this one was perfect as this well-known spot has a bench right at the viewpoint. If you swipe through, you can find me freeze-chilling there.

In February last year, and I went on a freezing cold night mission. At -15°C that felt even colder, we spent a few hours outside in the snow, and I shot my first 360 night pano. Inspired by what the bosses from said, I gave it a go and got it all captured. However, putting it together in post and attempting to edit it took so long that spring had arrived. 😀 I even had a session to get editing tips, but then I had to leave it for months and, only a little while ago, started working on it again. Technically, it's not my best image and yet one of my favourites so far, as I've learnt so much during the hours of capturing, how to improve that, stitching, editing, starting again, and again, and again, masking snow 🙄 and trying to make it look alright, instead of ditching it and giving up. Anyhow, swipe to see it larger and a few details! And thanks to Anita for modelling again. 🌌🌠🛸

A few weeks ago, I've had a wild day in the snow, with icey temperatures and dense fog...which was pretty much perfect. Of course, a little bit of sun would have been nice, but I'm not complaining. Took a few variations of this guy and still like these two. Swipe to have a look!

Although the winter seems already gone, I still have a few photos I'd like to share. This little scene is something I discovered last year, and have visited a few times since. With the first few, I got lucky, with the sun breaking through just enough to give it a nice glow. A few moments later, it was gone. If you swipe through, you can also find a few snow and autumn versions that I liked as well. Now, I just need a couple of spring and summer moments there!

Endless. Just the universe above the horizon. I've also endlessly debated if I want to post this photo, and which version. I've tried to edit one where things are pushed a lot further, and it was fun, but in the end, I always came back to this much more subtle one.
Shot at 85mm during the nights with in France, from far away at the beach (the tree was actually quite big)!
If you swipe, you can find the pushed one, including a super tall version. Let me know if you have any preference. I also took two different horizontal versions at 40mm, and I might edit those as well.
