Official media at Ultrace was something I had been working towards for a long time. After the last few years as a visitor I had painted my own picture of how I imagined things to go.
And from the outside, it probably looked exactly like that: access, cars, smoke, chaos, moments everywhere.
The reality behind it was a little different.
38°C, almost no shade, dust, tire smoke and a constant fight to keep shooting at the level I wanted to. Not because the event lacked energy. Quite the opposite. Ultrace was alive in every corner. I just had way less left in my own tank than I hoped for.
And honestly, it helped to see that I was not the only one who felt that. Even some of the most experienced creators talked about how difficult this one was to shoot.
I came home with less than I wanted.
But the few frames that worked mean more because of that!
So this is not a full coverage dump. Just a few frames from a weekend that was harder than it looked, but still meant a lot.
Shoutout to for taking the picture of me in the last slide!
