Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Captured on stage at Wembley Stadium on 12 July 1986 during Queen's final tour is their iconic frontman, Freddie Mercury.
Born Farrokh Bulsara in 1946 in Zanzibar, he was the eldest son of Indian parents from the Parsi community. Mercury's family moved to London when he was in his teens, and he studied at the Ealing College of Art (1966-69) before forming the band Queen in 1970. Mercury composed many international hits, including 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Killer Queen' and 'Somebody to Love'.
This image was later replicated as the official film poster for the 2018 biopic that tells his story.
