Yesterday I was walking up towards the mountains and on my way I met this guy, and he asked me where am I going, so I answered, I told him I'm going to look for ibex ,a type of mountain goat. and we were talking and then he eventually asked me where I'm from, because my German is not the best, and I told him I'm from Israel and the first thing he did was to put his hand on my shoulder and say: "I'm so sorry for what's happening, I hope that your family is fine and that things turn out in your favor" and we continue talking and he asked me about my family and whether or not I was drafted to the army and I answered and then he told me: "you know this little village you just passed through, those last three houses in that village, used to be an SS camp for the N***s. They used to train the soldiers there for mountain warfare" and eventually he turned back and we said our goodbyes, after I went on my way, I was thinking it's quite crazy, only 90 years ago this place used to train people who in their essence were supposed to hate Jewish people, and the Jewish communities in this region of Germany were pretty much eliminated, but now almost 90 years later in those same forests that they trained N**i soldiers to hate Jews walks a Jewish person who lives in the village on the next Valley over and this gave me the realization that in these times, just like the times before, 90 years ago, we will not be exterminated, we will not give up and we will stay strong! Israel LIVES and WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE

Recently I went on a Mountain hiking day in the mountains close to home and I went on a very long and hard day covering approx. 20 km and 2300 elevation meters, but that's not the hike I'm going to talk about today, on the next day from that (which I came home completely broken from) I went on another "easier" hike to the a not so often visited peak in our region. now, it's important to say that most of the Hikes I go on are usually closer to what some people would call and indeed some of them do require you to climb some of the way, but I call it , both those hikes were of that manner. So on my way to the peak I had a great time, the weather was incredible and the views were awe inspiring, but my body was... how do they say in German? Kaputt! (Broken). But I kept going and at the end of the day had a really good time. Today I finished editing some of the photos I took from that day, and they inspired me to write this post.
So if you also want to go to places just like this and have some really cool experiences in the mountains of Germany, let me know and I can guide you to them.
Stay safe, keep exploring.

So it's been a while since I last posted
and this time it's a long over due update about my mountaineering journey from last year
So, back then we lived in the desert, what a contrast to where we live now
and we have just recovered from covid and also just quit our jobs, all in all exciting time.
My training were going well, I was improving my climbing and my running.
and that's about it. Thought to show a little sign of life after a long while of not posting anything.
You can see all of this in my latest Youtube video

We decided to go on a hike looking for waterholes to dip in
https://bit.ly/3bRcFEC
we had a beautiful hike with some fantastic views
we also saw 2 Egyptian vultures.. TWICE!
It was incredible!
Unfortunately the holes were not so full so we sattled for some puddles in the middle of the desert.

Going Hiking with her is one of the most enjoyable things there are
We don't walk the same pace and don't always share the same views as to what the hike is all about..
But we always share the same deep connection to nature and the same love to the outdoors
and most importantly to each other
This week we released a video of our hike to mount sdom that raises above the dead sea
I'd love for you to watch it

there are three types of green bee eaters:
Asian, African and Arabian.
the ones we have in Israel are the Arabian green Bee eaters.
But the Asian green bee eater has been observed by scientists and noticed to recognize when the entrance to their nesting tunnel can be recognized by humans and act accordingly, disguising the entrance to prevent detection. the ability to be able to look at things from another's point of view was only described to primates before.
How little do we know about the natural world and how easily we take it for granted...
