Photographers... we need to have a meeting.

Great. People already think we're weird because we make everyone walk into random fields, get excited over a patch of tall grass and say, "Act natural!" while staring at them through a giant lens.

Can we please go back to being judged for THAT instead?

Please tell me I wasn't the only photographer who immediately thought, "Well... this is terrible PR for us."

It's already after 10 PM, and I told myself I wasn't going to start editing another gallery tonight. But then I opened this one and suddenly hours disappeared.

Some sessions are just fun from start to finish, and this was definitely one of them.

When these two reached out about doing a session with their cats, I was immediately on board. Not only did they have an adorable vision, but they were also so easygoing and trusting throughout the entire process. The kind of clients who show up excited, ready to have fun, and fully embrace the experience.

And can we talk about the cats for a second? Because honestly, they completely stole the show.

I don't think people realize how unpredictable animal sessions can be. You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes they cooperate. Sometimes they have completely different plans.

These two little stars absolutely exceeded every expectation. The outfits, the tiny hats, the expressions, the way they looked straight into the camera at just the right moments. I was laughing behind my camera the entire time.

But beyond the adorable cats, what I love most about these photos is the connection between everyone in them. The laughter was real. The smiles were real. The entire session felt relaxed and effortless, and I think that shows in every image.

Thank you both for trusting me with your vision, for being up for anything, and for introducing me to two of the cutest little Bavarian cats I've ever met.

Now excuse me while I continue obsessing over this gallery.

One of my goals this year was to finally start using more of the locations I have saved.

If you could see my Google Maps, you'd probably laugh. I have hundreds of pins saved all across Bavaria. Mountains, lakes, forests, flower fields, hidden roads, charming villages... places I've discovered over the years and promised myself I'd photograph in one day. This was one of them.

When this beautiful lady first reached out to me and shared her story, I immediately knew exactly where I wanted to take her. She told me about her battle with cancer. About everything she had gone through. About wanting to celebrate this chapter of life and everything she had overcome. And the second I heard her story, this location popped into my head.

I could already picture her standing here. I could already see the colors, the light, the movement, the feeling I wanted these images to have. When I suggested a flying dress session and she said yes without hesitation, I got even more excited. So I ordered the dress. We packed everything up, drove out together, and spent the evening creating these images. And honestly, I don't think I could have asked for a more perfect session.

What made these photos special wasn't just the location. It wasn't the dress. It wasn't even the light. It was the trust. She trusted me when I described a location she had never seen before. She trusted me when I said, "I have a vision." She trusted me when I told her this would be worth it.

As photographers, we spend so much time imagining photographs before they even exist. Sometimes we drive past a place and instantly know exactly what it could become. We see the final image long before we ever pick up the camera.

When a client trusts that vision, that's when the magic happens. And standing there watching her in that dress, and celebrate everything she had overcome, I felt incredibly grateful to be the person documenting it. Because this session was about so much more than pretty photos.

It was about strength. It was about resilience. It was about celebrating a woman who fought one of the hardest battles imaginable and came out the other side.

And I can't think of a better reason to create beautiful photographs.

I don't know who understood the assignment better... The humans or the cats. 😆

One thing I absolutely love about photography is when clients bring their personalities into the session. Matching outfits? Love it. Traditional Bavarian clothing? Even better.

But matching Bavarian outfits for the cats too? I knew this session was going to be something special.

The best photos are the ones that tell your story. The ones that make people smile. The ones that feel like you.

And I think these do exactly that.

I seriously couldn't stop once I started working on this gallery.

Every photo is better than the last. Every time I think I've found my favorite image, I come across another one.

This wedding was absolutely incredible.

Even when a thunderstorm decided to make an appearance, these two never let it bother them. They rolled with it, laughed through it, and made the most of every moment.

The attention to detail was amazing. The venue was beautiful. The guests were wonderful. The entire day was filled with so much love, happiness, and excitement.

Honestly, I'm struggling to find the right words because this was one of those weddings you simply have to experience to understand.

So let me officially introduce...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith ❤️

Congratulations again to the both of you. Thank you for trusting me to document such an important day in your lives. It was truly an honor to be there and witness the beginning of this new chapter.

I wish you many, many happy years together.

And to everyone else... this is just the beginning. I have so many beautiful moments from this wedding to share, and I cannot wait to show you more.

Throwback Thursday ♥

These photos were taken back in 2021, and they were easily one of my favorite sessions that year.

And now, five years later, I just had the honor of photographing their wedding.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to be there for life's biggest milestones. First the engagement, then the wedding, and sometimes even more chapters after that. It means so much to me when clients invite me back into their lives and trust me to document these moments.

As I'm currently working on their wedding gallery, I found myself looking back through these engagement photos again. It's kind of crazy to think that when these were taken, their wedding was still just a plan, something they were dreaming and talking about.

And now they're married.

Getting to watch those stories unfold and preserving those memories along the way is something I'll never take for granted.

For now, enjoy this little Throwback Thursday. And if you love these photos, stay tuned... wedding sneak peeks are coming very soon, and I cannot wait to share them with you ❤️

I don't even know where to begin with this session.

First of all, I've been a little behind on posting lately. Between sessions, client meetings, dress fittings, school break and having my boys home more than usual, I've had a lot less computer time than I normally do. That's actually one of the reasons I recently closed my books for June. I have so many beautiful galleries that have already been delivered but never made it to social media, and I am determined to finally get caught up and share them.

And this session felt like the perfect place to start, because from the moment we started, everything just clicked.

The way they look at each other. The way they laugh together. The excitement. The anticipation. The love. It was one of those sessions where every time I clicked the shutter, I got another image I loved.

Every time I sat down to narrow down the gallery, I found another photo I couldn't bear to leave out. I honestly think this gallery holds a record number of favorite images for me. And having been a photographer for 14 years, that says A LOT. There are so many photos from this session that I absolutely adore.

And what I love most isn't even the location or the light (if you've been following me a while, you know I have a love/hate relationship with this location :D) No. What I love the most is them.

They're the kind of couple that makes you believe in love stories. The kind of people you instantly root for. The kind of people who leave you genuinely excited for everything that's ahead of them.

This session came at exactly the right time for me, too. Sometimes life gets overwhelming. Sometimes you're tired. Sometimes your to do list feels a mile long. That's been me for a few months now. But then every once in a while, you have a session that completely refills your creative battery.

This was that session. 🥹

I left with a full memory card, a huge smile on my face, and my heart just so completely full ♥

And trust me... you're going to be seeing a lot more from this gallery.

Looking at these images, you might think all five kids stood there, smiled at the camera, and made my job easy.

The reality? This session was exactly what you would expect from a family with five children 😄

We played games. We raced around. We laughed. We tickled. We stopped for little snails and flowers along the way. We explored. There was endless energy and so much going on in the best possible way. We spent the session making memories together.

And honestly, that's exactly what I want.

I never expect children to sit still and smile for an hour. That doesn't sound fun for them, and it usually doesn't lead to natural photos anyway.

Instead, I spend most of the session building trust, making them laugh, getting them comfortable, and turning the whole experience into something they actually enjoy.

The "everyone looking and smiling at the camera" photos? Those happen naturally along the way.

I have my little tricks. I have my games. And as long as parents trust the process and allow their children to be children, we always get those beautiful moments.

So if you've ever thought, "My kids could never do this," I promise you, you're probably looking at these photos and seeing exactly the kind of children I photograph every single week, children just like yours and mine.

Children don't need to listen to every command.

They just need to be themselves, because that IS perfection 🤍
