Etappe 3 is ideal if you love a mix of forest atmosphere and dramatic panoramas, without the harder hiking of later stages.

• Moderate difficulty
• Narrow forest trails + rocky sections
• Several ascents & descents
• Incredible viewpoints over the Elbe Valley

Highlights along the way:
– Brand Mountain view (find a small bridge there)
– 800 stairs downhill to the valley called "Tiefer Grund"

Colours and landscapes of Malerweg, stage 2. ✨🥾

A beautiful mix of forest paths, stair climbs, dramatic sandstone formations around Bastei and then, a tiny village with timber-framed houses tucked into the cliffs of Saxon Switzerland National Park called Rathewalde was just a cherry on top.

Strong wind, fog constantly shifting and turning sandstone walls and sky into ever-changing colour combinations that day.

📍 Stage 2, from Stadt Wehlen to Hohnstein.

Uttewalder Grund is a deep, narrow valley with very limited sunlight. 💚

The constant wetness creates ideal conditions for green moss and a unique ecosystem to thrive. 🌱
Photographing here is challenging due to the lack of light but it's also very rewarding.

This quiet, shaded landscape reflects the kind of nature that inspired Caspar David Friedrich, known for depicting similar landscapes under moonlight in his work. 🌚

The energy of this place is just magical, and you can feel it while hiking through. ✨

Malerweg 🥾 a hiking trail that feels like stepping into a painting.

This is our latest destination project created for Sächsische Schweiz ❤️ — a place we’ve been returning to for years, not only to discover for ourselves, but especially to craft visual stories for the region, inspired by light, fog, sandstone cliffs, and the timeless atmosphere of the Elbe valley, in collaboration with the tourism board .

Over time, this landscape has become a true part of our creative journey in destination storytelling.

Ve spolupráci s a zachycujeme jednu z nejkrásnějších říčních stezek u nás.
Začínáme zimním putováním – a letošní leden nám přál. –15 °C, ticho, ledová řeka, která si razí cestu skalami a jihočeskou krajinou.

Ladakh Journal - 2019 part II

Completely immersed in the colours, dances, and rhythms of Mulbekh village celebration.

In more remote areas where ancient animist and Buddhist practices blend together, Lhapa - village shaman play an important role in the spiritual and cultural life of Ladakhi people. Lhapas act as intermediaries between humans and the spirit world. They are believed to communicate with deities - mountain spirits, and ancestral forces to heal illness, resolve conflicts, and protect the community.

Somewhere in the crowd, we even found the Himalayan Harry. 🧙

Farewell to Mulbekh village valley ✨

From Ladakh Journal - 2019 I.

We were welcomed by the monks of Thiksey Monastery and somehow just slipped into their world.
They offered us butter tea while preparing for a harvest ceremony, with views over 6,000 m Himalayan peaks in the distance.

In September, the monks celebrate the gifts of the earth. They opened a huge parchment with a mandala painted in all the colours of the year - maybe representing the seasons, maybe the cycles of life..

The city of Leh felt just as open and welcoming. Morning prayers echo through the tiny streets. It was simple to connect, even without words.

Ended the day under the moonlight in Leh - in an art studio right beneath the Leh palace, surrounded by new friends and stories, before we will be heading into a mountain village.
