Real Estate Photography Case Study: €2M Property in Record Time
I’m excited to share a recent project that truly tested my skills, patience, and dedication. This real estate shoot was no ordinary assignment, it was a perfect blend of challenge, persistence, and, ultimately, success.
The Challenge: Nature vs. Weather
The apartment I was filming and photographing was located in a secluded spot behind tall, lush trees, making it a hidden gem in the truest sense. At first glance, it seemed like a photographer’s dream; incredible natural surroundings, proximity to the lake, and views of the Alps in the distance.
However, as many of you know, weather in Germany is unpredictable, and for over 10 days, I found myself waiting for the perfect conditions. I wasn’t willing to settle for anything less than ideal. The clouds, the haze, the lighting — all had to align perfectly to capture the property in its best light. For 10 days, I went back to the property whenever the sun came out, just to catch the right light. And on the 11th day, it finally happened: the weather cleared up, and I was able to get the sharp, vivid shots I’d been waiting for. I had to be very fast and precise, no room for a mistake or second take.
The Work: HDR & Drone Photography at Its Best
Once the skies were clear, I made the most of it by using HDR (High Dynamic Range) techniques to bring out the full range of color and detail. The key was to balance the light and shadows between the inside and outside of the property.
In addition, I took to the skies with drone photography to showcase the property’s proximity to the lake and beautiful Alps views. Aerial shots are critical in real estate because they provide a broader perspective, and in this case, they highlight the exclusivity of the location. The combination of ground-level HDR shots and beautiful drone footage really set this property apart.
The Outcome: Sold in Less Than a Month
Here’s where the effort paid off. The apartment, listed at €2 million, sold in less than a month, which is incredibly fast, especially considering the current market conditions.
