Kristian Bertel | Photography Pictures and essays from India by Kristian Bertel. Series of pictures primarily taken in the province India is great. India is filthy.

For about 5,000 years India has been celebrating life and all its pleasures. Despite the changes and diversities in India, the country is still a picturesque and a unique tourist destination. The country's civilization is among the oldest in the world and the imaginations of tourists are always captivated by India's legends and culture. There are many places to visit and if you see the places your

imagination will surely be colorful. Rajasthan, India's westernmost state is the very essence of exotic India. To really get a sense of the desert state, nothing comes close to a camel safari. India combines the most terrible and the most beautiful at the same time. And the photographer is interested in both the beauty and the ugliness of the country, such as India's poverty. India has a lot of impressions, fascination, amazement and complete breathlessness whether due to smog or other things is the short and banal summary of a journey through India. How can one summarize such a large country, in which new surprises await on every corner, in one archive story. And for this reason come here the archive stories above with stories that the photographer encountered in India. For a long time, however, this does not mean that this is all. India is usually not beautiful. Still, you have to get to know India, you have to smell it and taste it, until it is clear what is really in this huge land. Spending time with the locals is the most important thing for the photographer when traveling.

In this photograph a statue of Ganesh has been portrayed at a temple in Rajasthan. Also known as Ganesha, Ganapati and Vinayaka, it is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesh's elephant head makes him easy to identify. He is widely revered as the remover of obtacles and the deva of intellect and wisdom.

The source of light for portraits in the Indian street have been used for decades before artificial sources of light were discovered. Although natural light as in this portrait from Old Delhi can limit options in portrait photography compared to artificial lights for photographers. A white reflector placed to reflect light into the darker side of the subject's face, will even the contrast. Shutter speeds may be slower than normal, but the lighting will be beautifully soft and rich. The best time for the photographer to take street light portrait is considered to be early hours of the day and late hours of afternoon when light is more intense on the street. Curtains, reflectors, and intensity reducing shields are used to give soft light. While mirrors and glasses can be used for high key lighting.

Today's photo is from Chandni Chowk in Delhi, India. As well-stated by many, Chandni Chowk represents what those visiting India are often seeking, an adventurous encounter that represents the unique vitality and rawness of the country. With a sensory overload, you may fell momentarily overwhelmed, but the experience will stay with you for a lifetime.

A city of many moods and identities, Delhi has evolved countless personalities over its long, fraught history. It may not be the most beautiful city in India, but in many ways it is the grandest. As a photographer in this highly populated city, the small and silent moments strugged me as well.

Today's photograph is picturing an Indian man in Delhi, India. One of the many things I'm truly inspired by as a photographer visiting India, are the many fascinating faces which are meeting me wherever I go.
