A tandem bicycle only works one way. Both people pedal, both lean into the turns. If one stops, the other feels it. We named this after a bike.

I’m Catalina, and next to me is Andrei, my husband, my business partner, my best friend since we were teenagers with cameras we could barely afford.

Since then we’ve shot every kind of wedding: just the two of them and us, micro weddings, celebrations with hundreds of guests, days that lasted a few hours, days that stretched over several. Over 40 nationalities. Spring mornings in Scandinavia, golden Spanish afternoons, autumn evenings where the candles come out early. Each one different, each one asking something different of us.

We treat every wedding like the first and the last.
Because it is. Not two photographs are the same. We’re not replicating a formula, we’re actually looking at you.

What we want is your real connection, not smth that performs for a camera, but the one that exists when you forget we’re there.

We dress like your guests, move silently. At some point you stop thinking about us, and that’s when the photographs become something worth keeping.

We shoot digital and 35mm (and soon we will announce something new🤭), bring polaroids to every wedding, and stay until the story is over. When you book Tandem, you get both of us.

Handing your day to someone you just met takes trust. Scared of cameras, don’t know what to do with your hands, worried the photos won’t look like you, we’ve heard it all. Tell us your fears, your vision, what keeps you up at night about it. We’re not just your photographers. We’re humans too, and we care.

We’ll end up on your dance floor. We’ll cry before you do. You get the mom-friend of the group and a dad joke for every situation. We’re w**e people, cat parents, vintage lovers, the type who can’t waste an hour of a life well lived.

The bicycle works because both people choose to keep going in the same direction. That’s what we look for in you too.

There is something nobody prepares you for when you become a wedding photographer.

You come as a stranger. You leave knowing someone’s whole heart.

And then life goes on. Yours and theirs. But somewhere in a hard drive, in a gallery they’ve opened a hundred times, in a photo on a wall in a home that didn’t even exist yet on the day you met them, you are frozen together in the most important, most honest moment of their lives.

We don’t just photograph weddings. We photograph the beginning.

The beginning of the family they are about to build. The country they don’t know yet they are going to move to. The business that is still just a dream at that point. The person they are only just starting to become.

And then two years pass. Five. Ten. And we get a message, or we see a post, or we run into them somewhere and we think, we were there. On the day that started all of this. We were holding a camera while they were shaking from how much they felt.

That is one of the most beautiful things a person can be trusted with.

If you are a photographer reading this, hold your work with both hands. What you do matters more than you think.

And if you are a couple, know that the good ones never forget you. We watch you grow from a distance and we are so proud of how far you’ve gone.
