It was such a magical moment seeing so many Southern White Rhinos together in the wild. The sky was moody as it approached sunset and made the perfect setting for a silhouette. I also filmed this scene as each rhino moved about, eventually all exiting the frame.

What does a lunar eclipse look like up close? Something like this. When the moon is sufficiently eclipsed, it turns a beautiful rusty red. Near the edge of Earth's shadow you will often notice a faint blue band along with a strip of blinding white. At the same time, the reflected light from the moon is dimmed to the point that the stars reappear. This is all due to.....science? Aliens? Flat Earth? Humans may never know.

Anyway, here's the moment of maximum eclipse (97%) from Friday morning.

Moon shot at 2000 mm. Stars shot simultaneously at 200 mm, with the moon centered in the frame.
