Kolmapäeval, 20.09.2017 kell 18.00 avas Henri Hütt (1985) isiknäituse „Üksi loodud suurlinna tunnetus / Romantic Loneliness”. Näitus on osa Tallinna Fotokuu'17 kaasaegse kunsti biennaali galeriide programmist.

Mida osapooled sellest saavad?
Mis oleks üldse jagamist väärt?
Kas ma siis olen (veel) üksi?”

Toetused ja tänud: Eesti Kultuurkapital, Eesti Kunstnike Liit, MIMstuudio, Kanuti Gildi SAAL, Emer Värk, Laivi Suurväli, Liisa Kivi, Rea Lillemets, ______________

Näitus jääb avatuks kuni 9. oktoobrini 2017.

Henri Hütt’s solo exhibition Romantic Loneliness continues his series of staged spaces. This time the focus centres around the border between the visible and the apparent.

“The city resonates around me. I am alone, accompanied by the familiar feeling of loneliness and that’s how it should stay forever. There is too little time, I have to experience everything, manage to accomplish double plans, arrange double meetings, in order to be alone. Unknown environments distort dimensions and I am moving step by step towards an unreachable horizon. Later on, before entering the reality zone, I am walking in the dawn along empty streets and I feel the irresistibly strong feeling that I would like to share it with others…”

Why, on the other hand, does it seem so wrong?
What happens when one shares something with others?
What do they get from sharing the experience?
What is worth sharing?
Am I then still alone?

“Kunst on inimloomuse kõige väärtuslikum osa. Seda eriti tänapäevases konfliktide maailmas, kus igasugune humanism on ohustatud. Kunst loob ideaalse platvormi mõtisklemiseks, ekspressiivsuseks, vabaduseks ja fundamentaalseteks küsimusteks. Me ütleme elule “jah”, kuigi vahel tahaksime lõppu lisada “aga”. Kaasaegsete debattide raames peab kunstnik aina enam end kuuldavamaks tegema.
See biennaal on koostatud kunstnike poolt kunstnikutele.
Näitus taotleb olla elamus, esitlemaks ekstravertset liikumist ühisesse kohta, milleks on määratlematu dimensioon, avamaks teekondi neo-humanismini. “

57. Veneetsia biennali kuraator

Olete oodatud Eesti Kunstiakadeemia maali eriala magistrantuuri esimese kursuse üliõpilaste ühisnäitusele. Näitus koosneb kahe workshopi raames loodud projektidest ning on ühtlasi kokkuvõte semestri jooksul tehtud tööst.
Näituse pealkiri Viva Arte Viva viitab järgneva aasta Veneetsia biennaalile. Kunstnikud tutvusid biennaali temaatikaga ning lõpplahenduseks leidis igaüks isikliku tähenduse fraasile Viva Arte Viva.

______________________________

"In a world full of conflicts and jolts, in which humanism is being seriously jeopardized, art is the most precious part of the human being. It is the ideal place for reflection, individual expression, freedom and fundamental questions. It is a 'yes' to life, although sometimes a 'but' lies behind. More than ever, the role, the voice and the responsibility of the artist are crucial in the framework of contemporary debates.
Viva Arte Viva is also an exclamation, an expression of the passion for art and for the state of the artist. Viva Arte Viva is a Biennale designed with the artists, by the artists and for the artists. It deals with the forms they propose, the questions they pose, the practices they develop and the forms of life they choose.
The Exhibition also aims to be an experience, representing an extroversion movement towards the other, towards a common place and towards the most indefinable dimensions, opening the pathways to a neo-humanism."

Christine Macel,
Curator of 57th Venice Biennale

16. detsembril kell 17.00 avati EKA Galeriis uus näitus, Laivi “Infinite mind caged in practical possibilities”/ “Piiratud piiritus”.

On 16 December at 17.00 EKA Gallery will open a new exhibition, “Infinite mind caged in practical possibilities” by Laivi. Previously Laivi has focused on intimacy between clothing and its wearer, this time, however, she will be exhibiting works based on her conceptual search towards decreasing the distance between textile and clothing. Working with Jaquard loom, Laivi looks for ways to weave clothing into textile, so to say. Her work also references the mythical quest for the seamless shirt and her own fantasies on the conceptual meaning of clothing in contemporary world.

Laivi is an artist and designer working with emotional and intellectual qualities projected onto clothing. She is currently finishing her post-graduate degree in fashion at Aalto University, Helsinki.

On 5 January at 18.00 Laivi will be discussing the exhibition and her work with Sten Ojavee.

The exhibition is open until 7 January.
