شُيد المسجد فوق ربوة صخرية كانت تعرف بجبل يشكر، ويُعتبر من المساجد المعلقة، وهو أحد أكبر مساجد مصر حيث تبلغ مساحته مع الزيادات الخارجية حوالي ستة أفدنة ونصف الفدان، وقد بُني على شكل مربع مستلهمًا من طرز المساجد العباسية وخاصة مسجد سامراء بالعراق الذي استلهم منه المنارة الملوية.

Do you know how to calculate night sky shutter speeds without star trails?

A general rule of thumb to determine the longest shutter speed you can use without getting star trails is to divide the number 500 with the full frame equivalent of the focal length that you’re using. So, if you’re using a 24mm lens, the longest you can go without getting star trails is:

500 / 24 = 20.8 seconds

In this case, you’ll thus need to have the shutter speed 20 seconds or shorter to avoid getting star trails in your image.

If you want star trails go for a shutter speed longer than 20 seconds. There are various techniques for capturing star trails which we cover in the eBook below.
