Right after graduation, he wanted to express love for art through photography. He studied the basics of photography and the art of lighting at the Russian cultural center in Cairo. And after binding both of his studies of art and photography, he launched as a professional photographer within the fields of marketing and advertising and he specialized there in Interior Design, Architecture, Landscap
e Design, Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes, Products, Craft, Travel, and Lifestyle. Nominated for the National Geographic Award for photography - Abu Dhabi in 2013 being one of the top 10 selections between almost 31,000 contestant in the Middle East. Fady Magdy, Nominated and Selected with two photographers to illustrate in photography the book: Al-Hiraf Al-Taqlidiya fi Misr (the Traditional Crafts of Egypt). Edited by Menha el-Batraoui - Supervision: Egypt Network for Integrated Development (ENID), Sponsored by The Ministry of International Cooperation, The United Nations Development Program (UNDP). After the success that book had achieved being published in Arabic, it was translated to English by the American University in Cairo Press (AUC Press) in 2016, and the cover selection was for the artist: Fady Magdy. He currently is the Vice Art-Department Manager for El-Beit (Home) Magazine, the leading Arabic language decor and architecture magazine published by Al-Ahram publishing institution - Egypt.

وبعد ما جمع بين دراسة الفن ودراسة أساسيات التصوير الفوتوغرافى .. انطلق بعالم التصوير كمصور محترف لخدمات التسويق والاعلانات التجارية للعملاء .. فتخصص فى تصوير Interior Design, Architecture, Landscape Design, Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes, Products, Craft, Travel, and Lifestyle
ترشح لجائزة ناشيونال جيوغرافيك أبو ظبى للتصوير عام 2013 – بعد أن وصل من ضمن ال 10 الأوائل – ومن أصل ما يقرب من 31000 ألف متنافس فى الشرق الأوسط .
فادى مجدى تم ترشحه واختياره مع اثنين من المصورين المبدعين لتصوير كتاب ( الحرف التقليدية فى مصر ) – أشراف تحريرى: منحة البطراوى – وتحت أشراف: المبادرة المصرية للتنمية المتكاملة (النداء) – وبرعاية: وزارة التعاون الدولى – والبرنامج الإنمائى للأمم المتحدة (UNDP) .
وبعد النجاح التى حققه الكتاب وانتشاره باللغة العربية تم ترجمته ونشره باللغة الإنجليزية ( The Traditional Crafts of Egypt ) فى عام 2016 من خلال الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة (AUC PRESS)
كما تم اختيار صورة غلاف الكتاب للفنان المصور: فادى مجدى
وحاليا يشغل منصب نائب المدير الفنى لمجلة البيت المجلة العربية الأولى للديكور والعمارة والفنون والتى تصدر عن مؤسسة الأهرام الصحفية بمصر.
