Flash reflections!!!
Wanted or no?

Wanted of course as it helps us get info about the surface texture

But sometimes we need to see beyond the Shiney enamel
Hence we use a cross polarized filter,
It removes all the reflections
Used in:
-shade selection
-Lesions photoggraphy
-line of demarcation of the fillings.

How to shoot successful lower occlusal view
1-lip retractor to hold away the lower lip from anterior teeth

2-ask.patient to raise the tongue towards the palate and open their mouth fully (if they dont have a tied tongue )

3-place the mirrorr below the tongue and raise it till you see a clear view of the occlusal surface of the premolars and first molar

4-direct your camera towards the (Image in the mirror)
90° over the image of the occlusal.surface of the lower six

To shoot standard lateral smile and retracted anterior lateral view

1-make sure you focus everytime on the lateral incisor
2-take the retracted photo first
3-then ask the patient to remove the retractors
4-take the smiling photo
