Palatally Impacted Canine Management 🦷
A palatally impacted canine was initially distalized using a TPA with hooks to create a safe path of eruption and, most importantly, minimize the risk of root resorption of the adjacent lateral incisor.
Once adequate space and clearance were achieved, the canine could be safely guided toward its ideal position.
🔹 Key principle: Don’t rush the canine into the arch — first create a safe path, protect the adjacent roots, then align.
