Hey my name is Alex. I was born & raised in the NW corner of the USA. I travel, skateboard, do outdoorsy things, build stuff & shoot photos.

I do some of it for hire (professional) & some of it I do just for fun (amateur). Visit my website to see my work! My name is Alex Fazekas-Boone. I live in a small city just south of Seattle, Washington called Tacoma with my beautiful woman Laura. Together we travel, photograph and share about all of the rad things we have the pleasure of experiencing in life. I am a Pacific Northwest native, and

was born and raised here in Washington State. I come from a huge family, my mother was one of eight kids. I have three brothers, one sister, two nephews, three nieces and too many cousins to count. My family has always encouraged me to follow whatever I was passionate about from art to skateboarding to music and photography. I have always made art in some fashion my whole life, but my main focus these days is photography. It's something that just happened organically. I didn't really set out to do it. I wasn’t like “Hey, I’m going to be a photographer now guys.” It just came together on its own and I think that's what's so special about it. My other big passion is travel. It's all I think about really. To me it is like a drug. There's a reason it's called a trip you know! It hooked me the first time I went on that road trip and saw the enormous basin of Crater Lake and the bison causing traffic jams in Yellowstone National Park. The thing I really like about travelling is that it takes me out of my comfort zone and forces me into new and strange experiences. I meet weird and interesting people I wouldn't otherwise, and encounter scenes I couldn't see back home in Pacific Northwest. Traveling ensures that my camera and I are constantly standing in front of fresh and inspiring people, places and things.

These photos are from exactly 1 year ago today. Laura and I had been riding our 150CC SYM Scooter for about a week in the pouring rain in Vietnam. We had been following the Ho Chi Minh Highway south from Hanoi, which was supposed to be a beautiful drive, but up until this point had been pretty miserable. The roads were pretty bad. They were dusty, dirty, full of overloaded trucks going double our speed, and of course dogs, people and scooters popping out of every road we passed. This day was a turning point in the trip though. The rain finally had let up a bit, and the mountains that I had dreamed of seeing, were all around us. After winding our way up and over several mountain passes we finally landed in the first town we really liked, Phong Nha, where we met our first friend on the trip.
