The brighter the light, the darker the shadow.
Photography has become an unconscious-soul driven-art therapy for me that has helped me appreciate the light and the darkness.
Here are some examples:
▪️Photograph 1: Not many of you know that I used to have serious skin issue, which no doctor, treatment or analysis was able to help me heal it. I’ve used my photography as mood board to trick my brain into believing my skin is as beautiful as I wanted it to be.
▪️Photograph 2: This blurry, kind of nicely looking photograph is me lying on top of a table filled with photographs of my dad, family and friends, during one of my anxious breakdowns in the period of grieve of the sudden passing of my beloved father. Why n**e? - because it’s about showing the bear, unarmed, most open expression of myself lying down powerless, confused and lonely I’ve ever felt.
▪️Photograph 3: After I’ve got myself out of years long most toxic, emotionally damaging relationship I’ve ever had, I began to learn how to celebrate myself, my body, my resilience and my strength. A moment where for the first time in my life I fully dedicated the time and effort towards finding out who I actually am, what I’m doing and why I’ve allowed to be treated in a way I would never treat another human being.
💬Conclusion? - EXPRESS YOURSELF!
In any shape and form YOU feel like. Even if it doesn’t make sense, even if you’re not getting paid for it, even if your closest people don’t understand or support it.
👑And most importantly - CELEBRATE YOURSELF!
Photography is a powerful tool that can transform you. It can help you go through the darkest lakes, by freezing the time so you can enjoy and celebrate it there, but even more afterwards, as a reminder of your journey and greatness.
