What looks like painting is actually part of the cyanotype process. 👩‍🎨

After exposure and washing, I use hot water and a brush to clean and refine specific areas of the print💧Each cyanotype requires precise registration, and hours of manual work 🤲

Preparing new works from the Flying Roots series before upcoming exhibitions.

Tricolour cyanotype is a complicated technique that requires a lot of practice and patience (and I’m not exactly known for that 😅). After many years of experimenting with it, I’ve learned how each photo reacts differently to water, temperature, and humidity 👩‍🔬

I write down the process that works best for each photo, each animal, and its colours, like a laboratory notebook 📝

I’m so happy to work with tricolour cyanotype. I love how its chemistry allows me to learn so much about bird coloration 🩵💛💚

✨One of the things I enjoy most about the tricolour cyanotype process is that quiet moment between layers, when colours start to appear and I notice details in my images I don’t usually take the time to look at. The technique itself is full of surprises. How each layer of colour comes together so naturally, creating something unique every time. 🐥It makes me feel like my wildlife photography takes on a new meaning, with more organic tones shaped by natural elements used to create them🪴
