Hi everyone!
My name is Ivanna, I am Argentinian-Canadian. I went to University in Toronto and came to Spain in 2020 for a Masters in Art Therapy. After finishing my studies last year, I decided I wanted to stay here. I work as a tour guide and photographer and I still pay taxes in Canada (complicated situation) until my residency comes through and I can become Autonoma.
I broke my knee at the end of December, I was bed-ridden for a week until I could go to get an MRI (my car got towed on those days too!). In mid-January the doctor gave me the option to get an infiltration instead of surgery and I have been going to physio daily.
The issue is that I am here on my own, unable to work and without social security. My medical bills and basic living expenses are piling up and it is making it very challenging for me to focus on recovery with the financial worry.
I have decided to be brave and ask for help from my different communities. I created a GoFundMe campaign and was able to turn my shame into gratitude, very healing too! This is a temporary situation and the support I receive now, will help me tremendously.
