ESP / Petare es un sector popular al este de la capital de Venezuela, Caracas, y es caracterizado principalmente por ser uno de los lugares más peligroso y violento del mundo.
Según cifras del último censo registrado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas en el año 2011, esta parroquia se encuentra poblada por más de 372 mil personas, que en su mayoría viven en condiciones precarias.
También ha sido ojo de muchos proyectos sociales de políticos, instituciones y ONG´s nacionales e internacionales, pero a raíz de la gran dimensión que abarca su territorio y el conflicto social que padece, son muy pocas las obras que han tenido gran éxito para las personas que hacen vida en este sitio.
“Cambio” es una serie realizada en sus espacios, dedicada a su gente y al gran poder que representa al verbo al que obedece está palabra. Realizada en el 2012, fue mi primera serie de fotografía con la que pude conocer alguna de las áreas de esta locación y entrar por medio de la imagen en la intimidad de sus habitantes.
ENG / Petare is a popular sector in the east of the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. This place is mainly characterized by being one of the most dangerous and violent places in the world.
According to numbers presented by the National Institute of Statistics from Venezuela in 2011, this place is populated by more than 372 thousand people of which most live under precarious conditions.
Politics, Institutions and ONG´s, national and internationally have worked in differents social projects in Petare, but because of the great dimension that covers the territory and the social conflict that suffers, they are very few projects that have benefited and helped her people to get out from poverty.
