Last week I have been learning more about flying and pushing my mental barriers with the team. I was surrounded by a great group of new pilots, that now I can call friends, that taught me about supporting each other and dealing with the unknown. It was so fu***ng inspiring!

I still have a long way to feel more relaxed in the air but the path is always easier when it’s shared.

Thanks to for being such a wonderful team and family for the whole week. Specially to and for taking care of us in the air and in the ground.

METEO: Fases de la Luz.

¿Alguna vez te has preguntado qué es eso de la Hora Dorada o la Hora Azul? ¿Sabes de qué va el tema pero no sabes muy bien cómo identificarlas? No worries, hoy hablamos de este tema de una forma sencilla y resumida.

Por definición la Hora Azul, es una fase de la luz que comienza una vez el sol se sitúa por debajo del horizonte. La luz residual que nos queda es la que el Sol proyecta contra el cielo, de ahí que por lo general y en un día sin nubes, todo empiece a cobrar un color azulado.

Para muchos fotografxs este es un momento de guardar la cámara e irse para casa, pero para otros es cuando la magia empieza. La Hora Azul nos aporta imágenes de compuestas por una luz suave y una gama de colores entre azules y violetas ideal para usarla por sí misma o combinarla con fuentes de luz externas. Es el momento favorito de muchos fotógrafxs de paisaje, outdoor y cineastas. Este conjunto de fases en la latitud de la Península tiene una duración cercana a la hora y media. Concentrando la parte más aprovechable en unos 30-40 minutos.

Este periodo se divide en 3 fases dentro del crepúsculo (amanecer y anochecer). Crepúsculo civil, naútico y astronómico. Cuanto más cerca del punto en el cual el sol pasa por el horizonte nos encontremos, más luz dispondremos, y más fácil nos será disparar con ISOs y velocidades de obturación “normales”. La fase más aprovechable independientemente del equipo que uses será el Crepúsculo civil con una duración aproximada de 20 minutos.

Por otro lado la Hora Dorada será ese periodo de tiempo desde que el sol empieza a salir o ponerse hasta que se completa esta fase. Es el periodo donde la luz es más anaranjada y el paisaje tiene mayor volumen. Esta fase es una de las más cotizadas por fotgrafxs de todo tipo ya que la luz proporciona un tono y un volumen únicos. La duración de esta fase es aproximadamente de una hora después del amanecer o una hora antes del anochecer.

Mi camino como fotógrafo se ha guiado siempre por la necesidad de documentar y contar historias. Desde el principio me atrajo retratar a la gente en sus actividades y sumergirme en su mundo. Dese los inicios fotografiando a riders de piñón fijo fluyendo en diferentes ciudades, hasta ahora que me muevo en un mundo más orientado a las actividades de montaña. At the end of the summer we had in mind a bike packing trip far south in the land of the deserts and sea but unfortunately a last minute call from our friends brought down that ideal trip on wheels.

After that we opted for a close to home area that was mostly unknown for us. Once again we end up falling in love with something that wasn’t exotic or very different to what we are used to. We found gems in form of red and white paths, beautiful mountains, forests and some of the best torreznos we have ever had.

Once again mixing bikes and travel brought us happiness despite the rain the cold and some hungry on the way.
