It's far too hot to cook inside the van tonight, so we're making the most of this beautiful spot by the river and cooking outside instead. 🌿

Before anyone worries, this isn't an open fire. It's just our gas cooker connected to the van's external Bullfinch gas point, so it's no different to cooking on a normal gas hob.

Well... another trip to the prefecture, another appointment, and another wait. 😅

The good news is my French residence permit has been approved, I've paid the €300 fee, and all the paperwork is finally complete. My passport has been stamped, so everything is legal.

The bad news? The actual residence permit card isn't there yet. They've told me it'll be another 5-6 weeks before I get a message inviting me to book yet another appointment... just to go and collect it.

After more than six months of this process, you just become numb to the bureaucracy. One more wait...

Not quite where we expected to be... and it turns out the universe has other plans again.

We've already had to leave one spot, and now it looks like we'll be moving on from here sooner than we thought too.

This week's episode is Part 2 of Fix My Dream, where we continue rebuilding the electrical system for Lottie and her kids after driving 1,200km across Europe to help.

The work has officially begun. 🔧⚡

After months of planning, sourcing parts and talking about it, we're finally installing the new electrical system in Lottie's van.

Battery, inverter, charger, cables everywhere... absolute chaos right now, but it's exciting to see it all starting to come together.

Hopefully it won't be long before she's got a reliable power system and can get back to enjoying van life properly.
