Love doesn't need translation, it just needs witnesses.
Mao & Lars gathered their closest people in the golden light of Catalonia for an intimate celebration that felt like a long exhale.
This is the work I live for: the unscripted glances, the quiet tears, the laughter that spills out before anyone's ready, all of it framed with the editorial sensibility I've carried since I was a teenager sketching fashion illustrations, learning to sew, studying editorial makeup, dreaming over the pages of Vogue.
Out of curiosity, you might find this amusing: I was featured in Vogue Home 15 years ago, not as a photographer, but with the "most beautiful and tasteful Bloody Mary in São Paulo".
I grew up steeped in art, architecture, music… always searching for where I belonged in it all.
It wasn't until I picked up a camera that everything clicked, suddenly I had a way to channel every aesthetic I'd ever loved into a single frame.
So when people call documentary-meets-editorial a "trend," I smile a little.
For me, it's just the only way I know how to see.
