I feel like we try ignore the biggest emotions because they are uncomfortable. We try numb them, or suppress them, or think we are broken for feeling everything so deeply.

Instead, I think we need to listen to what they are telling us.

Because sometimes the most uncomfortable seasons can be the catalyst for change.

Since dad died, I’ve started my whole life again. When everything felt uncertain, I trusted my gut more than ever, because dad taught me to be brave.

The next chapter starts now 🫶 and I’m going to make him proud 🤍

3 months today, our world changed forever and our hearts were shattered into a million different pieces 💔

We love and miss Pete every day, all day, but we want to thank each and everyone of you for your kindness and generosity. We raised the amazing total of £2909.46 from the collection plate at Pete’s funeral.

As a family we decided to split this total between St Mary’s Church, who incidently were amazing on the day and worked so hard to help everything run smoothly despite the attendance numbers of over 400, and the Brake charity.

This charity are continuing to support us through this devastating period of our lives and we are so grateful for your donations 🙏

Along with a couple of other donations we received directly, the total amount raised for Brake was £2081.62!!

I am sure you will agree this is an amazing total, and a true testament to the love that was felt for Pete!❤️
We honestly can’t thank you all enough!

Also a little mention to all our friends that continue to check in, show up and generally support us, we appreciate it more than you know 🙏xx

This isn’t the tidy, Instagram friendly version. This is the brutal reality of losing your favourite man on earth far too tragically and far too soon.

For anyone who can relate, please know you’re not alone.

A little thought dump for grief awareness month.

The word in itself is heavy, but carrying it is a whole different kind of weight.

If this has taught me anything, it’s how crap I’ve been for others who have been through this. The offers of support with no real substance, the “let me know if you need anything” when in actual fact there’s absolutely no way we know what we need, we are just making it through each day.

Respectfully, if you’ve never watched the clock turn to midnight and breathed a huge sigh of relief that you’ve made it through another day, we are living two completely different lives.

I don’t want my posts to be sad, to evoke pity or make people feel rubbish. I want to raise awareness. If I can use my voice for good, to help others feel seen and understood, and help educate a completely grief illiterate society, then just a small glimmer of good will come out of something so completely earth shattering.

So that’s why I’ll talk about it. To keep my dad alive, and to sit with others in their time of need.

“I will never forget who came with a lamp when i was in the dark, not to fix me, but to sit with me until i can see again.”

That’s my mission now.

I love you so much that every beautiful thing I see on this earth feels like a sign from you up above 🤍

Happy heavenly birthday dad 🪽

We used to write poems in each other’s birthday cards, so here’s one for the first birthday we have spent without you.

They say that firsts are the hardest
But that, I’m not sure is true,
Because every day breaks our heart
When we walk this earth without you.

You were the sun, the moon and all our stars
Which I think you really do know,
Because today, of all the days of the year,
you’re putting on quite the show.

The whole world looks up to the sky
In wonder and in awe,
And I want to shout “my dad’s up there”
From down here on the floor.

We look for you in sunsets,
In the clouds, the birds, the moon
In butterflies and the warm breeze
Since the day you were taken to soon.

I really wish I had the words
To tell you everything I want to say
But dad, you’re my sun, my moon and all my stars
And I miss you every minute of every day.

I love you so much dad. Nothing is the same without you 💔

This week I learned the value of being the tree in the storm 🌿

When emotions run high, it’s easy to get pulled into the branches; reacting, overthinking, feeling everything at once.

But the strength of the tree isn’t in the branches… it’s in the trunk. In the roots.

So when the storm hits, I’m learning to ground.
To slow down.
To observe instead of react.

Because not everything needs an immediate response.
Not every emotion needs action.
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is stay steady while everything around you moves.

Be the observer.
Ground yourself.
Stay strong.

Be the tree in the storm.
