Commissioner of Maiwut County, Hon. Beach Banang, today convened a productive high level consultative meeting in Juba with the leadership of Nile Hope to evaluate the current humanitarian situation across Maiwut County.
The bilateral meeting served as a strategic platform to assess pressing community needs, review past operations and outline concrete mechanisms to enhance aid coordination and service delivery for the vulnerable population in the county.
During the engagement, Nile Hope expressed sincere appreciation to the community and local leadership of Maiwut County for their strong cooperation, hospitality and peaceful partnership over the years.
Since establishing its presence in Maiwut in 2015, Nile Hope has remained a key operational partner, supporting community development across three critical sectors such as ;
-Increasing access to quality learning, institutional support, and capacity building.
-Facilitating community safeguard measures, gender and child protection services and human rights advocacy.
-Strengthening local resilience and improving everyday living conditions through targeted interventions.
Reaffirming their commitment to rural recovery, Nile Hope leadership highlighted their intention to resume and expand active field operations within Maiwut County.
Hon. Beach Banang commended Nile Hope for its longstanding service to the people of Maiwut and reiterated the County Government’s commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and conducive environment for international and national humanitarian partners.
