My coverage for Sanna and Julien’s small civil ceremony at was minimal, but we had enough time to take a short set of portraits.

I was in awe of the weather that day, just perfect for our session. One might be inclined to see it as a sad cloudy day with no sunshine. But when I photograph, I am always grateful for overcast days. The sky acts as a giant diffuser, making the light soft and flattering on skin.

Sanna and Julien’s winter morning was even more special with the subtle fog, which created this milky scenery.

As the year changes, I can not help but look back on everything I’ve achieved, and dream new DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE. ✨

At the end of 2021 I feel so deeply blessed. I covered 22 weddings, 2 of them were abroad (grant you, that’s few compared to other years, but I am still grateful, given the pandemic circumstances), and 3 of them fulfilled long time dreams of mine. I’m pretty sure I outdid myself this year, creating my best work yet. With that in mind, I can’t wait to see what 2022 brings!

My long time dream is to photograph international weddings in as many countries as possible, experiencing wedding traditions from around the world.

Among the top experiences I’ve had so far are documenting a Swedish + Eritrean wedding, a Moldovan + Indian wedding, and a Finnish + Afghani wedding.

But there is so much more I would love to experience! And so many SPACES I would love to cover international weddings at. Here are some of things I dream to photograph next:

🌿 a wedding in Japan again, ideally, a traditional Japanese wedding and, a couple in Kyoto at Kenninji gardens;

🌿 a creative couple at La Muralla Roja;

🌿 actually, to have photos of me taken at La Muralla Roja as well;

🌿 a wedding styled by ;

🌿 a traditional Jewish wedding;

🌿 a couple at the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum;

🌿 a black sand beach elopement;

🌿 a wedding / elopement at Amangiri (a minimalist dream location in Southern Utah);

🌿 a Marrakech wedding at Amanjena;

🌿 a wedding in Java at Amanjiwo;

🌿 a wedding in Myanmar;

🌿 a sunrise wedding ceremony overlooking the Indian Ocean; 🐙

🌿 a wedding at Abbaye Vaux de Cernay in France,
🌿 Southern France wedding at Provance Poiries and at Chateau de Tourreau,
🌿 Tuscany wedding at La Foce,
🌿 Lake Como wedding at Villa d’Este,
🌿 Ireland coast wedding at Killruddery House and Gardens;

🌿 A Southern wedding under moss-draped oak trees;

🌿 a safari conservancy wedding at Arijiju House in Kenya and a honeymoon session at the Giraffe Manor Hotel; 🦒

🌿 an elopement in Antarctica;

What was extra special about Riikka and Juho’s day is that the wedding started in their home town, Eura. Riikka got ready in her parent’s home, and before heading to the ceremony we had time to take portraits in the garden. I remember I was a bit emotional at this point, because Riikka was so stunning in her Pronovias wedding dress.

The ceremony took place in Eura’s main church. Euran kirkko is maybe one of the most beautiful churches I’ve photographed in, and I hope I will get to cover weddings there again. Not only was the church stunning, but the ceremony was very touching, with beautiful singing and a glowing bride and groom.

This is the story of an international wedding set between the tall pine trees of Santalahti resort, on one of the most gloomy, rainy days of Finnish summer I’ve ever experienced.
