Hanko had been on my list of places in Finland for a long time, and as you can see, it was a beautiful visit altogether.

Getting outside in Turku yesterday with as good company and inspiration, as always. Going to be putting a bit more time where I can into street photography the next few months, using the light and warmth while it lasts.

Recently I was invited to photograph the Estonian leg of the ‘Perseverance Tour’ for - it was a blast!

Full of good people and big laughs. Four shows altogether, felt like it was over all-too-quickly from my end, but the show goes on! Tickets still available throughout Europe and the eventual return to Finland. Go see the man!

I met Toni as part of a series where I travel Finland, photographing and interviewing the people living here.

Toni welcomed me warmly on this -20°C day, into his home for coffee and good conversation.

We spoke on many things - photography, life outside the city, and Toni’s routine of ice swimming.

We visited Billnäs and Fiskars together and I got a sense of infectious love for the area from Toni and his partner.

I think most importantly of all, that day I was reminded of why I started this project to begin with. It was to connect with real people, doing real living. Finland is full of great people, living calmly, and peacefully - appreciating the smallest things, and places.

I had a wonderful day with this stranger-turned-friend, and I look forward to our next meeting and adventures in the beautiful Raasepori area.

Recently I met with Tyler, a newly immigrated person from the USA to Finland.

Tyler moved for love, as many of us do and did, to Finland.

We met through a photo documentary project I am doing where I photograph and interview the people living in Finland. I thought it would be interesting to include someone who was only 30 days in.

The comment section on the video shows a clear cross section on the Finnish peoples opinions on immigrants, some welcoming, some fair, and some outright ignorant.

Either way, I think Tyler's story is a beautiful one. And one familiar to myself, as I too am an immigrant who went through the similar struggles that Tyler may face.
