A tough encounter between two proud vanua unfolded in the Viti Levu elimination round as both teams battled for a place in the Skipper Cup competition.
The match brought together two former holders of the prestigious Farebrother Sullivan Trophy, teams that have previously made their mark as giant slayers in Fiji rugby.
Played at Thompson Park, the contest lived up to expectations, with both sides showing determination and pride in their jerseys. However, it was Ovalau who proved they meant business and showed their hunger for victory, overcoming the hosts Namosi 26–15.
The impressive win keeps Ovalau's Skipper Cup dream alive and sends a strong message to the remaining teams in the competition.

Celebrating the life of Turaga na Tui Wailevu from the Mataqali Wailevu of Maloku, Moala, Lau. Apen*sa Ciri, who has now been laid to rest. He will be remembered as a man who dedicated his life to his Mataqali, village and people, working tirelessly for the betterment of the community. He was known for his strong character, humility, kindness, wisdom, and hardworking spirit. As family and friends gathered to bid their final farewell, they also came together to honor a life of leadership, service, and love. His legacy and the values he lived by will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
